Guests say

Rigg Cottage in Sandsend offers a cosy stay with its comfortable beds and proximity to the beach. Guests appreciate the quiet location, off-road parking, and the occasional welcome pack. While some find the cottage well-equipped and immaculate, others note maintenance issues and a need for refurbishment. The garden and views are highlights, though some cleanliness and facility concerns are mentioned.

Cleanliness experiences vary; several guests found the cottage immaculate and well-presented, while others reported it not being clean upon arrival, with issues like hair and dirt on utensils and furniture. The inconsistency leads to a score above average, as more guests had positive experiences.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach and local amenities, offering a peaceful setting with easy access to Sandsend's attractions. The positive feedback on location is consistent among guests.

Guests generally find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. However, some mention the property being smaller than expected and the furniture needing an upgrade, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.

Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen mentioned by some, but several guests report maintenance issues such as problems with the TV, appliances, and general upkeep. The mixed feedback indicates that while the facilities meet basic needs, there is significant scope for enhancement.

The occasional welcome pack and guest treats are well-received, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as these are not consistently mentioned or guaranteed for every guest, the score reflects the positive impact when provided, but with the understanding that such amenities are a bonus rather than a standard provision.

I particularly like the sense of calm due to the pairing of modern with old fashioned decor/furnishings. Beds really comfy. All mod cons. Sweet little back garden with seating all around. Great views of Sandsend cliffs from it and the back of the house. Exactly as listed. Price suprisingly affordable for this very popular area. Parking at a premium so it's great to have room for two cars out front. Sandsend has everything one could need in a small resort but is a great base for exploring this beautiful coastline. One minor issue resolved quickly. Only disapointment was no small welcome pack (milk and tea bags /coffee) for weary travellers. We have booked for next summer. Can't wait!!

Convenient for access to local sights and pub and restaurants. House is spacious and clean and has most facilities. Garden enclosed which is good for dogs. The TV has free view and some APPS work if needed for rainy day. Sadly the house is full of excellent DVD SELECTIONS but cannot be played as there is no suitable connected DVD player. There is an old Bush player in the cupboard but has only old RGB triple connector. The TV IS NEW ISH so unable to connect. Players with HDMI are cheap and if setup would be a good add on facility for the cottage. There is one bathroom with high stepping bath fitted with shower. For the agile it’s fine but not for anyone with an incapacity. We enjoyed our stay and Hart pub around corner best food in area and beer.
