Outside there is a large patio and gravelled area, perfect for enjoying alfresco dining on a summer's evening, and beyond is use of the owner's field, where you can exercise your dogs or play a game of football. Situated in the village of Mugginton, which benefits from a lovely church with features dating back as far as the 11th and 12th centuries, this Mugginton cottage is a wonderfully relaxing holiday base. If you fancy a night off from cooking there is even a fantastic modern pub/restaurant opposite the cottage serving delicious meals or you can have a drink and enjoy the views. A short distance from this Peak District cottage is the hamlet of Hulland Ward, which is steeped in history and has a pub and shop, plus Kedleston Hall is nearby and well worth a visit, as is the ancient market town of Ashbourne and a little further afield is the charming Derbyshire town of Matlock. A perfect holiday destination at any time of year.
The hamlet of Hulland Ward located at the southern end of the Peak District is made up from a number of smaller hamlets including Hulland Moss, Hulland Upper and Nether Biggin, and is comprised of a scattering of traditional brick built cottages, old farmhouses and barn conversions, surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside and offering a number of country pubs. Nearby, the market town of Ashbourne with cobbled alleys, old market stalls, pubs, restaurants and antique shops is well worth a visit and Carsington Water is an ideal place to go for outdoor pursuits.
