Alford is a charming market town in Lincolnshire. It is set at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty about 11 miles north-west of Skegness. There is a wide range of shops including a grocers and two butchers as well as a large shop which specialises in dolls houses and their contents. Alford has become an important centre for arts and crafts with many markets held throughout the year. The main market is held in the Market Place every Tuesday and Friday with the craft market being held every August as well as Christmas markets every year. Alford is known for its Grade 1 listed working windmill, which is used commercially to produce stone-ground organic flour. Alford Manor House is a central point in the town, with its exhibitions and museum as well as a tea room and open gardens.

it is private and has views over the countryside. the lodge has everything you need. The beds were comfortable. We had an excellent meal at the Railway Tavern which is a walk away. We will definitely be returning.

Dawn and Keith (the Landlady and Landlord of the Railway Tavern) are the perfect hosts and could not have been more helpful. The Pub is a real gem and the food is the best sort of hearty fare. There is nothing not to like about this property; it is perfect for a long or short break.

Fab location - perfectly positioned for exploring Lincolnshire, especially the coast. Excellent property with all you need to enjoy a relaxing break. Perfect hosts who are so welcoming, but who also respect you and give you your space. The pub is super - a real traditional-style place, but with such a vibrant atmosphere, you can't help but enjoy yourself. The food is excellent, both in quality and cost, and cooked to perfection. We've already booked to return, and can't wait to go back.
