Providing a fantastic base for families, couples or friends, this superb Lakeland cottage is a stone's throw away from local amenities and has a spacious open-plan living area, three bedrooms sleeping up to six guests, permit parking for one car, and a private, enclosed patio garden. Make yourself at home in the well-equipped kitchen area to cook at home with ease, before gathering around the table for six to toast to your Lake District getaway. After dinner, retire to the sitting area with plush seating and a gas fire for added comfort, whilst the TV plays your favourite show. You can while away summer evenings in your private patio garden with outdoor seating, before catching your rest ready for another day of adventures. The ground floor has a separate utility, whilst upstairs you'll find a shower room, super-king-size zip/link bedroom, and a king-size. Climb the stairs again to find the second-floor king-size and a stylish, contemporary bathroom. The town of Ambleside is a picturesque setting for your Lake District holiday where you can dine at the likes of The Old Stamp House Restaurant, The Glass House - within a beautifully converted saw mill, and Dodds Restaurant, while the local shops provide the self-catering essentials. There are plenty of local attractions and activities to choose from, including Ambleside Roman Fort, Stock Ghyll Force, Ambleside Climbing Wall, and two cinemas, whilst the backdrop of dramatic fells and countryside provide walks from your doorstep. You'll also be a short distance from Waterhead Pier on the shores of Lake Windermere to dine out with lake views and boat cruises, and the town of Windermere offers watersports, Windermere Jetty Museum, and The World of Beatrix Potter. Malvern is a great base for touring the Lake District with easy access to Troutbeck Valley and dramatic Kirkstone Pass, Rydal, Grasmere and the home of William Wordsworth, and plenty of outdoor adventures at Coniston Water, Grizedale Forest, and popular hikes up Scafell Pike. Discover the delights of the Lake District with a stay at Malvern.

Ambleside is a great location for exploring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There are cruises, boat rides, and watersports on Lake Windermere, plus stores, restaurants, and pubs in the village. On the lakeside in Waterhead, the parkland offers excellent lake views and a short beach, while a walk in the other way brings you to Stock Ghyll Force waterfall. Along with the Lake and fantastic walking, Ambleside is notable for its yearly rushbearing ceremony and the 17th-century "Bridge House," now the National Trust Information Centre.

Plenty of space and great to have the utility for muddy boots. However the gas fire was almost impossible to light, even with following the instructions and no matter how careful you are, the shower doors come off the rails in the first floor shower. Could do with some new pillows, as they’re very uncomfortable.

Some furnishings needs replaced (one small sofa, soft cushions) and general decor needs improving. TV reception problematic but appreciated having smart TV. Bathrooms ok. Glassware not too clean. Lack of fish/egg slice. Good location.

The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutlery. The house is spacious for 4 adults. The bedrooms were big and well equipped. Most of the furniture in the house had a bit of a musty smell to it. The main thing that really affected our stay was the poor quality of the mattresses. Each one was too soft and lumpy. We didn't sleep well for the whole time. For this reason we would not stay there again.
