The apartments are created within a stunning former Arts and Crafts country house, offering superb views across the manicured grounds to the Langdales beyond. One of only 12 luxury apartments within this stunning former country house, the building displays a wealth of original features from the Arts and Craft movement and has been sympathetically reworked to combine modern day facilities with early 20th century heritage. A private entrance on the ground floor with a light and airy entrance hall and beyond to the spacious open plan living space; a wonderful social area with the emphasis very much on comfort. The quality kitchen is well equipped with Neff appliances, and an adjacent dining area with solid wood furnishings completes the lounge area. A door leads out to a cleverly created sunny private decked garden, perfect for enjoying an aperitif before dinner. There’s also a covered veranda with further outdoor seating to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the woodland beyond.
Just a mile from the centre of Windermere, Deer Wood makes an ideal base for enjoying a variety of walks or cycle rides from the door. The delights of Windermere and Bowness offer you an array of interesting shops, bars and bistros as well as well stocked supermarkets and every day amenities, and of course, access to Lake Windermere at Bowness. Orrest Head and Post Knott are within easy walking distance and offer amazing views of England's largest Lake, a perfect amble for you and your dog; various watersports line the shores of Windermere to include sailing, paddleboarding and canoeing and Grizedale Forest is close by providing a variety of trails for cyclists and mountain bikers of all abilities.
The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. We would not return however for one simple reason which has think been highlighted by others - the heating. Admittedly it has not been the best of summers but that happens- we didnât expect the whole party to be cold every night of our stay and have no way of adjusting the heat. The thermostat on the lounge radiator was set for 14.5°! What a shame

Finished to a very high standard. We were only there for 2 nights so it was a shame we never got to stay longer and enjoy the space more. Seemed to be equipped with everything we needed and only a short drive from Windermere town, it's was spot on for all our needs. Highly recommend and would definitely look to rebook. Thank you
