The Devil s Cradle at Brookside is a beautiful self contained unit, built in approx 1928 as a farm shop on the Churt estate of Earl Lloyd George , Bron y De . Later the building was a well know restaurant called the Devil s Grill . We have tried to create a sympathetic restoration of the past combined with luxury comforts of today , with four poster King size bed, double sofa bed, fully en suite with a compact kitchen and lounge area all beautifully refurbished including under floor heating and a wood burning stove for your cosy intimate stay.

The property is set in the heart of 1,000 acres of National Trust Land with many famous landmarks including, Frensham Ponds, The Devil s Punchbowl, Bourne/Tilford Woods and The Devil s Jumps. These glorious locations are frequently used for the filming of many major films including Robin Hood, Snow White and the Huntsman and the latest James Bond Movie

It is a haven for wildlife, walking, mountain biking, sailing and riding.

Also equidistant (approx 4 miles) from the lovely Market towns of Farnham and Haslemere with a lovely selection of cafes, bars and boutique style shops.

A simple breakfast of quality products including eggs, Dorset cereals, organic yoghurts, breads and croissants is included in the room price , cooked available on request ( supplement payable ). For special dietary requests please contact us in advance .

Good quality local pubs abound, with the closest just a 20-metre stroll, The Bel & Dragon, which serves excellent bar, and restaurant meals.

Directions to The Devil S Cradle

Please note that if you use the postcode in your Sat Nav it may well take you to Tilford Road in Farnham. We are in fact at the opposite end of Tilford Road close to Hindhead The property is located at the juncnion of Tilford Road and Jumps Road in Churt.,directly opposite The Pride of the Valley pub.

The Devil s Cradle can be approached from either the A3 North or South from the north, exit at Thursley slip road, at the T junction turn right over the A3 bridge, at the next T junction turn left and proceed through Thursley village to the T junction at the top of the hill.

Turn left and proceed for 2 miles approx to a crossroads , turn left and we are the 1st house on the left opposite The Pride of the Valley Public house .

From the South, exit at Grayshott slip road ( last exit before the tunnel ) at the roundabout take the 2nd exit towards Hindhead. At the next mini roundabout go straight on, with the garage on your left, at the next mini roundabout take the 1st exit on to the A287 , continue for half a mile and take the right fork into Tilford Road, proceed on Tilford Road for approx 2 miles, when approaching the pink house on the left we are on the right opposite them and The Pride of the Valley Public house.

From the west leave Farnham on the A287 towards Frensham , proceed on this road for approx 3 miles into Frensham, carry on past Frensham ponds and shortly after the ponds fork left into Jumps Road, continue to the crossroads and turn right at The Pride of the valley public house and we are immediately on the left

From the East via Haslemere take the A287 to Hindhead at the double mini roundabout take the 1st exit and immediately the 2nd exit back on to the A287 towards Farnham then follow directions as from the south

From Heathrow you would use M25, M3 south , exit 4 to Farnham and follow local directions from the west From Gatwick you would take the M23 north to the M25, exit juncion 10 on to the A3 and follow local directions above from the north
