This property has a security deposit of £200.. The barn itself is presented to the very highest of standards. Set out in reverse style, the first floor living space takes advantage of the high roof with exposed beams. The modern kitchen is immaculate. Large windows create an open airy feel and there is a cosy wood burning stove to keep you warm during the winter months. French doors open onto a balcony with steps down to the garden. The bedrooms are all on the ground floor. It is a fantastic place either for a family holiday or as a base for exploring this majestic area of coastline and creeks. Outside there is a tap and sink ideal for washing dogs and rinsing the sand away after a day on the beach with ample hanging area for wet suits and beach equipment under the wooden steps.
Skyber Lowen is tucked away in the hamlet of Kuggar on the eastern side of the stunning Lizard Peninsula, surrounded by beautiful coastline to the west and east and the Helford River to the north. There are numerous coastal and country walks to be enjoyed with much of the coastline being in the ownership of the National Trust.
Kuggar itself is typically quiet and peaceful and has a couple of campsites and small bars which, along with the rest of Cornwall, become livelier in the peak of summer season with some live music. There is a shop and a Post Office in nearby Ruan Minor. The golden sands at Kennack are a three minute drive or a 15 minute walk from the property and dog-friendly all year, with some restrictions during July and August. The picturesque villages of Cadgwith and Coverack are nearby with the amazing Kynance Cove just a short distance by car. Beach ¾ miles.

Skyber lowen was a great place to stay for our Cornish holiday! It was very warm and comfortable in October 2025! I do think the kingsize bed mattress could do with being replaced as I didn’t find it as comfortable as I would have expected. And it would have been nice to have somewhere to rest our legs after a long day of walking! But the peace and quiet was wonderful. And the lovely gifts on arrival were very much appreciated.

Skyber Lowen is a well equipped cottage, you have everything you need from the moment you arrive. Everything is laid out and designed perfectly, especially the lovely double oven which cooks fantastic. The garden is lovely for the kids to play and enjoy and the added feature of the sink and hose outside to wash all sandy clothing is excellent.Local is spot on, with a beach a lovely walk away, plus others a short drive. Only let down was some dirty cups, cutlery, bowls and plates and broken toilet handle flusher, but this did not take away from the quality of the cottage and the holiday in general.

We stayed as a family of five - with grown-up kids - and had plenty of space for all of us. The upstairs sitting room works really well and was a lovely space to be in; the kitchen was very well equipped, and the garden was good for games and chilling out. Beds were comfortable, windows all opened to keep the rooms aired, and the bathrooms were good. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The stars were amazing on clear nights. We enjoyed the calm and quiet, and had a good week exploring the beaches and coves of the Lizard and beyond. Shops close by were a bit limited, but we stocked up in Helstone. We had good food at Dan the Lobster Man at Porthleven Harbour and super fish and chips at the Old Inn in Mullion.
