In association with Trinity House, we are pleased to present Sevenstones at Lizard Lighthouse. Located on the southern-most tip of mainland Britain, the six adjacent cottages of Lizard Lighthouse present guests with dazzling scenery and coastal walks right from the doorstep. Rare and beautiful flora and fauna make this cliff top location particularly special.
Arranged over two floors with a ground floor bedroom and en-suite, along with two further bedrooms upstairs, Sevenstones is a spacious dog friendly property with sea views, an enclosed courtyard and allocated parking. A generous entrance hall leads to the cosy sitting room with its comfy leather sofas inviting you to curl up in front of the electric living flame fire in the evenings, the well-equipped kitchen; the separate dining room; a family shower room; and a ground floor twin bedroom with its own spacious en-suite bathroom. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, another twin room and a king-size, both with sea views.
Outside, relax or dine al-fresco in the enclosed courtyard garden with picnic table.
Lizard Lighthouse is a fully working lighthouse, first established in 1619. The distinctive two white towers that it is known for today were built in 1751 by private entrepreneur Thomas Fonnereau, and first lit on 22 August of that year. Trinity House gained control of the lights in 1771 and continues to look after its operation to this day. It became electrified in 1924 and then fully automated in 1998. It has a 26 mile light range and an automatic 3 mile fog signal if conditions are misty.
The nearby Lizard Village provides shops, restaurants and a friendly pub only ¼ mile away. There are an abundance of other small seaside towns and beaches to explore including St Michael's Mount, St. Ives, Mousehold, Newlyn, Penzance and The Helford River.
Additional Information:
This is an operational lighthouse with an automatic, electric fog signal. During occasional periods of fog and mist, ear plugs are provided for your comfort.
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
A travel cot and highchair available on request.
Please note, WiFi is not available at this property and there is very limited mobile signal. A landline telephone is provided for UK and non-premium numbers only.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.
Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly.
A barbecue is not provided, however guests are welcome to bring their own, subject to adhering to the safety precautions set out in the arrival information.
Sorry, no fireworks, drones or remote controlled flying equipment are permitted.
Due to its location and surroundings, please ensure that children are supervised at all times whilst at this property.

If you want to stay in a lighthouse cottage for the experience this v good. Great view of the fresnel lens and in bad weather you get to listen to the automatic fog horn (all night). Location on the Lizard is obviously great. There was some phone signal, no wifi (which we knew in advance). Cottage very well equipped. There is a bus service up to Helston, but ideally you have a car there. Some taxis will go but not that easy to get and v expensive as they have to come down from Helston to pick up. Local town of Lizard has some places to eat but the nearest convenience stores is 7 miles away.
