About this property

Looe 2.5 miles. This charming first-floor apartment, surrounded by rolling countryside and offering distant sea views, can be found in the peaceful hamlet of Millendreath near Looe. The Cheshire Cat is a contemporary and spacious apartment, suitable for a family or group of up to six guests wanting to enjoy a holiday beside the coast of south Cornwall, with the magnificent South West Coast Path right on the doorstep. Step inside the apartment and discover a stylish, monochrome kitchen, fully equipped with all of the appliances you could need to create delicious home-cooked meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table in the living/dining room. After dinner, relax on one of the two sofas in the cosy sitting room, where you can enjoy watching your favourite shows on the TV, or head onto the balcony with a glass of wine and admire the sea views in the distance. When it's time to catch up on rest, head to one of the three bright and airy bedrooms, consisting of two twins and a master double with a TV, all served by the immaculate, white-tiled family bathroom, offering a shower over bath, so you can choose how you prefer to get ready for each day. Millendreath offers a bar and a bistro, as well as the small sand and shingle Plaidy Beach, just one mile from the property. Join the South West Coast Path from your doorstep in either direction to further explore the south Cornwall coast; head east towards Rame Head Heritage Coast, passing Wild Features monkey sanctuary, the waterfront park of Seaton Valley, which offers a swimming beach and playground, Tregantle Fort and picturesque sandy beach with rocky coves and the medieval St Michael's Chapel, which stands prominently on the headland of Rame Head, while a journey west will lead to the Polperro Heritage Coast, encompassing the fishing port of Looe, split into East and West Looe, offering picturesque beaches and joined by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the river, picturesque Polperro with its magnificent harbour and museum, as well as its stunning beach, and further along the coast will bring you to the National Trust's Lantic Bay, a nature reserve and sheltered cove with Mediterranean-style white sand and turquoise water. The market town of Liskeard is around eight miles away, with a great selection of amenities, as well as museums and other attractions, while the magnificent countryside of the Tamar Valley and Bodmin Moor are waiting to be discovered. The Cheshire Cat is a wonderful base for exploring the south coast of Cornwall.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port, made up of the bustling quay of East Looe and the quieter West Looe, connected by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the river, and you can also catch a river taxi to travel between the two. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. The sandy Looe Beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Explore the nearby Bodmin Moor and Tamar Valley to see the former mining landscape, which has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier, and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
