Later step into the fully-equipped kitchen to help rustle up a tasty meal, eat together at the table before venturing out to the deck to admire the sun setting over the park with a glass of wine in hand.

When the sky starts to get dark, come back inside and retire to a double or either twin bedroom; in the morning, freshen up in the shower room before embarking on your next adventure. Visitors to Sun Haven Holiday Park have easy access to both a beautiful Blue Flag beach and miles of hiking trails winding through Cornwall's verdant, beautiful forests. All around and within the park itself are a network of stunning trails perfect for hikers. There is a trail leaving the park's base following the River Menalhyl through woodland to Mawgan Porth, where you and your dog can spend the day lounging on the sands of the golden beach after.

After working up an appetite, head to the Merrymoor Inn where you can reward yourself with a refreshing pint of Cornish ale. The park's location is ideal, as it is close to other tourist hotspots such as Cornwall's Eden Project and its tropical biomes and The Japanese Garden which houses a myriad of picturesque eastern-inspired gardens. Make the most of your location by the coast and head to Newquay where you can enjoy basking in the sun on the sands of Fistral and Towan beach, as well as the world-famous Bedruthan Steps, where surfers meet to take to the open water.

Mawgan Porth is a small, protected cove on the beautiful north Cornish coast between Newquay and Padstow. The glistening sands of the beach are perfect for a day of surfing, swimming, and hiking the nearby caves and coastal trails. The summer is the perfect time to take advantage of the mild climate and visit the coast, whether it's for the first time to go surfing or for a relaxing stroll along the cliffs to watch the waves crash. Both Paul Ainsworth's No. 6 and Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant are two of the many excellent dining options in the neighbourhood of Mawgan Porth. The Scarlet Hotel is an adults-only establishment that features a public spa. Tennis courts, a pitch and putt, and an 18-hole golf course with ocean views can all be found in Mawgan Porth, as can an on-site deli and a farm shop selling meat, eggs, vegetables, bread, and pasties made from local ingredients.
