About this property

Pendragon House is a contemporary holiday cottage in Port Isaac, ideally situated between the old fishing harbour, and also the beach of Port Gaverne, both within an easy five minute walk. Offering stylish and contemporary accommodation, a particular feature of the property are the spectacular views that stretch out to sea. Pendragon House is the perfect getaway for a group of friends, or the whole family including a canine companion, looking for a coastal base from which to explore the North Cornwall coast.

Designed with the views in mind, the sociable living space is located on the first floor with sea views towards Tregardock from the sitting room and rural views over to Roscarrock Hill from the kitchen. Flooded with natural light, the first floor is the ultimate place to relax after a long day exploring the coast; sink down into one of the comfortable sofas in front of the open fire, or prepare a home cooked meal in the well-equipped custom-made, hand painted kitchen. The third bedroom and separate shower room are also situated on this floor, whilst the ground floor offers two generous sized bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and the other with an en-suite bathroom and separate shower. All of the bedrooms have zip and link beds providing either super king-size beds, or two single beds for added flexibility.

Guests can enjoy a wealth of doorstep adventures from Pendragon House. Walk out onto Lobber Point and follow the South West Coast Path over the cliff tops towards Port Quin and the bays of Epphaven and Lundy - finishing up at ‘Fresh from the Sea’ café, just a stone’s throw from Pendragon House’s front door. Food lover’s will not be disappointed, with Nathan Outlaw’s Michelin Star restaurant just a short stroll away. Whilst there is so much to see and do by foot, further afield, the town of Wadebridge and the thriving village of Rock (8 miles) is well worth exploring, as are the popular beaches of Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock, with a foot ferry across to Padstow.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Spotlessly clean. The house book stated the refuse collection was a Friday but it was uplifted in the Thursday so that was a pain as obviously we still had refuse overnight and as there was only one black bag left we had to put that waste into a shopping bag, a couple of bags would be good . Decor wise the house is good although the Velux window in the upstairs bathroom needs attention, it is also unfortunate that you have no way of opening either of the roof windows. Those two issues aside we would recommend this property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I think it is important to mention in the advert that there is no garden, it might not suit a family with young children.

The only thing I would suggest is to have some storage cupboards in the kitchen for food and a comfy armchair in the lounge as the sofas were a tight fit for 6 adults.
