About this property

Resting on the outskirts of Combe Martin, a bustling resort in Devon is Glen Rise, a fabulous single-storey dwelling. Enjoying a rural setting within the stunning Exmoor National Park, and only a short journey away from the beach and a host of amenities, Glen Rise offers the ideal base for a family getaway, inviting six guests and two well-behaved dogs. Park up on the private driveway before entering the abode, starting off in the light-flooded, open-plan living space; here you can rustle up delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, gather around the lofty dining table, and relax upon the plush sofas with views out to the rear decked area. Return indoors for an indulgent bath or a refreshing shower in one of two bathrooms, before resting your eyes in one of three well-presented bedrooms, including a king-size with en-suite, a further king-size and a twin. Awaken to a morning coffee ahead of venturing into the village, starting off with a tour of Combe Martin Museum, followed by a stroll along both Combe Martin Beaches and the West Country Walks hiking area. Continue to Ilfracombe, home to a popular aquarium, and the rocky terrain of Tunnels Beach, before trekking up to Capstone Hill. For the best views, follow the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast path, stopping off at beauty spots including Heddon's Mouth and the Valley of Rocks, ahead of discovering Exmoor Zoological and Conservation Centre, a delight for animal lovers. Finish off your break by lounging upon Woolacombe Beach, enjoying a family day out at Funder Island, or brushing up on your local knowledge at Mortehoe Museum. Enjoy all of this at Glen Rise.

Combe Martin is located where the Exmoor National Park and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty converge. This modest beach resort is a popular destination for both locals and tourists because it has all the amenities needed. The beach at Combe Martin is highly well-liked, and the sheltered cove there is great for rock-pooling and paddle-boarding. The hamlet also has a dinosaur and wildlife park! The famous Earl of Rone festival and an annual carnival are both hosted in Combe Martin each year in May. With Lynton and Lynmouth, Woolacombe, Croyde Bay, Saunton Sands, Ilfracombe, and Barnstaple all within easy driving distance, this is a great starting point for exploring and learning about North Devon.

The property is recently renovated with all the modern facilities you need. The location is perfect and was so peaceful. You would not think you were in a village setting. The beds were very comfortable with great quality linen. Throughout the property every detail was thought of and it genuinely was a fantastic house. The only note is the WiFi doesn’t reach the furthest bedroom but that just needs a booster. (Just a small suggestion- it did not affect our stay) This honestly was a beautiful place to stay and we are very much looking forward to future visits and would highly recommend. Thank you also for the lovely welcome gift. The owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome

The house is done beautifully and has everything you could need. It’s very spacious and comfortable and we felt very at home there. The location is lovely with a short walk down to Combe Martin beach and lots of walking trails around. Also a close drive to lots of lovely places. This is one of the nicest properties we have rented for a holiday. It takes us a while to find somewhere suitable for our large greyhound that has a safe secure garden for her and this was perfect. We enjoyed some afternoons on the decking that has nice comfortable furniture for relaxing. We will not hesitate to rebook in the future!
