Guests say

Heatherbank is a charming cottage in Uplyme, appreciated for its peacefulness, secure garden, and scenic walks nearby. Guests have enjoyed the spacious rooms and the property's suitability for both families and dogs. While some found the cottage to be a comfortable and cosy base for exploring the area, others noted areas for improvement.

The property was generally described as clean and well-presented, with several guests noting its tidiness. However, there were mentions of a damp smell, mould, and woodlice, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to Lyme Regis and the beach. The secure garden is a hit with dog owners, and the area offers lovely walks, contributing to a positive experience.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the living spaces cosy, but there were comments about the need for better mattresses and grip rails in the shower for elderly guests, indicating that comfort could be enhanced.

The facilities received mixed reviews. While some guests were satisfied, others pointed out issues with the shower, appliances, and garden upkeep. The need for updates in the bathroom and kitchen was a common theme.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Whilst some changes eg bathroom update would be great (but expensive), a few small touches could make a real difference eg dressing table in the bedrooms. I always rate people on how they deal with problems. When the washing machine door was broken on arrival, a new machine was installed by the next morning. Excellent service - thank you! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but some improvements would make this place so much better.

    Made our holiday a delight.

A comfortable and cosy place for our family (and dogs) to celebrate Christmas with elderly relatives who live in the area, and can no longer travel to us in Scotland or host Christmas themselves. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable, as were the sofas in the living room. The garden was great for the dogs, (and I'm sure in the summer would be equally great for humans!) There are walks nearby, and Lyme and the beach are also in walking distance. The house is not overly fancy which means you can properly relax. We had a problem one day with a tap washer, and the very friendly owner came very quickly to fix it. We would definitely recommend Heatherbank.
