About this property

Dart Retreat is a welcoming cottage nestled in a tranquil cul-de-sac, boasting far reaching views of the River Dart in the village of Stoke Gabriel, ideal for a quiet family escape. Make your way into this stunning abode and into the well-equipped kitchen, fitted with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine, decorated to a contemporary standard with marble counter tops accompanied by a handy breakfast bar. Spend an evening gathered around the intimate dining table, enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal over a refreshing bottle of wine, before unwinding on one of the plush blue sofas and being entertained by the large Smart TV. Downstairs, you'll also find a convenient cloakroom situated next to the Breakfast bar. The rear of the property benefits from secluded outside space, a modest suntrap, perfect for your furry friends to run around, where you can down alfresco in the summer months, or store any sporting equipment you've brought along including bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards. Retire upstairs to one of the two nicely-decorated bedrooms, the king-size benefits from a large wall-mounted TV and picturesque views out to the River Dart whereas the twin room can be transformed into a super-king-size on request! Wake up to either a invigorating morning shower before a jam-packed day, or indulge in a peaceful bubble bath on a lazy Sunday in the family bathroom, letting a warm towel from the heated rail hug you as you exit. Right next to the property is Stoke Gabriel Stores and Post Office where you can stock up on fresh meat, fruit, veg and bakery products, as well as local crafts, gifts and artwork from the Country Gallery before making your way over to one of the country pubs for a refreshing pint, or take a break from cooking at one of the many village restaurants. Stroll down to the serene River Dart, a stunning location with calm waters and local wildlife, trying your luck at the variety of watersports activities including kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding. Alternatively, take the kids over to Mill Hill Pond, grabbing a crabbing line and bucket to catch some crabs as part of a local pastime, or relax at The River Shack café for an afternoon treat, or a morning coffee. Venture over to the quaint towns of Totnes and Dartmouth, home to a variety of fine eateries, art galleries, and historic attractions, or visit Torquay for an evening of theatre. The Devon coastline is just a short journey away from the property, with a wide selection of sandy beaches, walking trails, secret coves, cycling routes, and much more at locations such as Paignton, Babbacombe and Brixham. A memorable holiday to Devon awaits at the stunning Dart Retreat.

So peaceful and well situation almost in centre of the village. Spotlessly clean and lots of little extras like hand gel torch spices and lovely welcome. Would have stayed longer but already booked out. Lovely planting in the garden and birdsong on morning and evenings

The contact Beth was exceptional in her attentions. The Dart tributary is 5 min walk so is the well stocked store with Post Office and two pubs that are different but equally welcoming.

Good quality furnishings, a high spec kitchen and a lovely secure courtyard for our 2 dogs. We had a wonderful stay. My only very small suggestion would be to provide some bowls for visiting dogs.
