Situated in the quaint village of Allerford, sits this comfortable one-bedroom holiday cottage. Located within Exmoor National Park and next to a 15th-century packhorse bridge, it’s a dog-friendly space and perfect for a romantic getaway.
Inside the interior is intimate and cosy with exposed beams and whitewashed walls creating a cosy haven. After adventures in the countryside, leave muddy boots by the front door and sink into the comfy sofa in the lounge. On chilly nights, snuggle up in front of the wood burner and let the warmth of the crackling fire wash over you. A neat kitchen is at your disposal and has every utensil you’ll need to create a delicious meal for two while the dining table is perfectly placed for romantic, candlelit dinners. When it’s time for bed, a steep staircase sweeps up to the king-size bedroom. A soothing sanctuary, it’s pleasantly furnished and offers a sense of tranquillity and easy comfort. Outside, a small private area overlooks the countryside. It’s quite a romantic spot and perfect for watching the sunset. There’s also an outdoor kitchen and BBQ shared with a neighbouring property.
Explore the moors and woodland straight from the door or head to the charming coastal village of Porlock (1.5 miles). Lose yourself in winding streets lined with unique shops and galleries, linger over a hearty meal at a cosy pub, or take a romantic stroll along the pebble beach. Birdwatchers can also explore Porlock Salt Marsh and spend time spotting osprey, spoonbill, and oyster catchers. For adventure further afield, journey to the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth (13 miles) where you can ride the funicular railway and marvel at the spectacular Valley of the Rocks.
