A little market town called Saxmundham can be found on the River Fromus in the centre of Suffolk's Heritage Coast. With independent stores, a small museum, supermarkets, a train station, as well as art galleries, a weekly market, and a farmers' market, the town is well-served. Saxmundham is an excellent starting point for a summer holiday because it is so close to the coast; from there, you can easily travel to Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Dunwich, Southwold, and Walberswick, as well as other nearby coastal communities. The inland market town of Framlingham, which has lovely old buildings, a castle, and a variety of independent stores, is also nearby. Sutton Hoo, a historic royal Anglo-Saxon burial site, is a popular tourist destination south of the town.
