Long Compton is situated in the beautiful Cotswolds in south Warwickshire close to the borders of both Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire and is mentioned in the Domesday Book.  The village is located approximately half way between Oxford and Stratford upon Avon and is within easy reach of both.  The church dates back to the 13th century, and the lychgate to the 17th century.  Visit the award-winning pub, which was built as a coaching inn in 1748 and is situated only 300 yards from the cottage.  For golfers, there are two excellent courses close by, and for horse riders, guests will find an excellent riding school.  Bikes are available to hire from Morton. . .
