    This comfortable, spacious well equipped detached farmhouse, originally built around 200 years ago, is set in the middle of pasture (lambs and calves seasonally) and is ideal for a peaceful holiday. The property has a traditional range in the dining room and the original wooden ceilings and beams. There are wonderful views across Swaledale and the village of Reeth, which is 2 miles away. Good walking area and the Georgian town of Richmond is 11 miles away. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

    "A wonderful location away from everything yet only about 1 mile from the Bridge inn at Grinton and the shops and pubs in Reeth a further mile. Very comfortable and a welcome supply of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival.Well equipped and comfy. Homely and traditional old farmhouse full of character."

    "Beautiful Location. The cottage has everything you need. If you want peace and quiet it's so ideal. The surrounding country side is stunning. The Town of Reeth is beautiful as to is Grinton. There was a lovely welcome pack of tea, milk and coffe with some scrummy biscuits, a nice little touch."

    "Unfortunately, after heavy rainfall, the water supply turned brown and brackish which we were not warned might happen. Otherwise the house was good value especially had there been 6 of us. I couldn't find a mop to clean up sheep droppings we walked, inadvertently, into the kitchen and nor was there any way to dry washing , which I had expected as there was a washing machine."

    "lovely isolated cottage with fields all round bliss.Milk in fridge, tea bags, coffee and lovely biscuits left for our arrival by the owner, a nice touch. Shop just as you go into Reeth (1.5 miles-ish) on the right at the bend, sells everything 7am to 7.30pm week day's Saturday 8am to 6pm Sunday 9am to 4pmOur 4 children loved the holiday here even without the PS3, all the fresh air meant they slept well too.we would certainly go back."

    "Cottage needs some TLC however, the benefits of location and views/scenery far outweigh this and one must bear in mind that the cottage is some 200 years old. It was warm, cosy & comfortable & had plenty of room for our family of 5. The antique bedroom & dining furniture really suited the feel of the house. Plenty to do in the area and lots of walks. The children loved exploring & our family enjoyed a muddy but fun half term at Deer Park."

    "Website did not do justice with regards to the size of the accommodation - it fits 6 persons more than comfortably. Not quite as isolated as the photograph of the property suggests. The public house is less than 3/4 mile that accommodates all, families, couples, walkers, dogs. Bar food or restaut food to a high standard. Also less than 6 miles away a small town for all provisions. Feb 2009. "

    "Our holiday was excellent, in a lovely location staying in an atmospheric rambling old farmhouse. It was snowing turning into a blizzard on arrival, it added to the experience and the owner provided a bag of coal and two bags of logs, which made the house very cosy. It was great having so much wildlife and space on the doorstep, afterall, the farmhouse is literally in the middle of the field! We hope to return very soon. March 2008."
