From this Port Mulgrave cottage, a short stroll will bring you to Hinderwell village, which has excellent amenities, including a butcher, a village shop and several pubs. Enjoy a drive through the stunning scenery of the North York Moors National Park or visit the bustling, historic port of Whitby, with its famous abbey and Dracula connections! Well equipped and comfy. Slightly disappointed that when we arrived there were no logs, matches or firefighters to use the log burner. Had to go out that night and buy some. The upstairs toilet caused a few problems as it can only be used for no1âs and the stairs are very steep to be used at night to go down to the other bathroom. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and overall we were happy with our accommodation.

We were however, a little disappointed with the accommodation. It does say in the description that the stairs are steep and they are - very! In fact the the last few stairs towards the top are positively dangerous where the rail sort of disappears into the wall. There was an overall general lack of general maintenance ie black mould in the shower and a large glacier in the fridge which must have taken many months to grow to its size. All of this didn't stop us enjoying our holiday and we had brilliant weather.
