The Anglesey community of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogoch, often known by its abbreviated form of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, is the longest place name in Europe. Locals refer to it as Llanfair PG. Its name, which translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel adjacent to the ferocious whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave," was made up in 1860 as a publicity ploy for the railroad station. Llanfair PG, which is located off the Britannia Bridge and close to the Menai Straits, has a lot to offer families.
