About this property

This single-storey barn conversion is nestled in the Carmarthenshire village of Efailwen, near Llandissilio. Perfectly located on the borders of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, this is an ideal beauty spot for touring a wonderful region of Wales. Its interior exudes charm from head-to-toe, with its high vaulted ceilings and delightful log burner resting in the inglenook of the living room. The lounge area boasts comfy seating and a flat screen TV with a full Sky package, whilst the country style kitchen rests adjacently, with a large dining table and fully fitted kitchen including cream coloured base units, a window above the sink overlooking the picturesque, Welsh countryside. Entry is gained to this splendid holiday let via the private enclosed courtyard to the outside, a delightful little suntrap to soak up an afternoon with a glass of wine, benefitting the luxury of the luxurious hot tub. The twin room boasts zip and link beds for flexible sleeping arrangements, they can be put together on request to form a king-size double. Next is the double room, similarly set up in a modern, stylish fashion, the tiled shower room is just along the corridor occupying a fabulous rainfall shower. Nearby, should you require a few basic amenities, the village of Llandissilio is just a short distance away with a general store, post office and pubs, and further afield is the market town of Narberth. Enjoy the landscape scenery surrounding you; there are many light and heavy walking opportunities to stumble upon. Carmarthen lies on the River Towy offering Carmarthen Bay in the south and the rambling Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) in the north. A tremendous area to explore, with a charming base from which to view it from.

Llandissilio has a general store, a post office, a restaurant and two pubs - one of which is a traditional Welsh "local", unchanged since it was first opened. For a wider selection of shops, pubs and eating places, the market town of Narberth is just 5 miles away and Haverfordwest, the county town, is just 12 miles away where you can also explore its historic castle. Walks and cycle rides through beautiful countryside are on your doorstep with the complete coastal path and the Preseli Mountains also close at hand. Visits to Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm and the Dinosaur Park offer fun packed days or take a boat trip from Tenby to the island of Caldey with its monastery and sandy beach.

Paul the owner always available for anything we needed, thanks! Nice hot tub and open log fire! On the minus side it was miles from anywhere - the week’s weather was awful hardly stopped raining and I have to be honest and report the narrow approach road to the cottage was difficult to manoeuvre due to the road erosion due to the heavy rain ! Overall 6/10

Such a lovely conversion, comfortable and homely throughout. We arrived in snow, unusual for the area. This made access to the farm where the cottage is very challenging to say the least. However, the care and concern shown by Paul was excellent. He checked in on us when we'd arrived to make sure we had supplies, even providing us with milk as we had none. The hot tub was excellent and preheated on our request. The fire was set, ready for us to light. The owners had kindly changed the welcome bottle of fizz to a non alcoholic one on our request. An enduring memory will be enjoying the hot tub while it snowed on us! And also curling up by the fire with a good book. Great retreat and we'd definitely book again.

Log burner and hot tub was a super addition. Paul the owner was on hand if needed. Paul even lit the log burner so it was warm inside the cottage for our arrival. Gave some handy tips with directions which helped us to find the location. Stunning views from the dining table when eating breakfast. Will definitely visit again
