About this property

This impressive chapel conversion dates back to 1936 and is set within its own garden, in the charming North Wales town of Bagillt. Boasting an elevated position with views towards the Dee Estuary, this semi-detached wing of the chapel offers superb accommodation for a couple seeking a well-earned break. The interior is bursting with character with a high ceiling in the bedroom, stripped back floor boards and markings etched into one section of the wall, done by the original workforce during construction. You can rustle up a delicious meal in the kitchen and enjoy a bottle of wine before unwinding in the lounge as you catch up on your favourite TV programmes. There is beautiful parquet flooring and a large mural on the wall, which is the main focal point in the room. On return from a walk along the Wales Coastal Path, enjoy a spot of relaxation in the sauna room, where you can stream your favourite music through the Bluetooth sound system and them hop straight in the wet room shower opposite. The ground floor also plays host to a handy utility housing a washing machine and tumble dryer, and French doors lead out to the rear, enclosed courtyard, where you can soak up a pleasant afternoon with a drink. Climb the spiral staircase from the lounge and find a king-size double bed on the mezzanine landing, with an en-suite bathroom. Natural light fills the space each morning from the low, chapel-style, frosted windows as you wake up to your first cup of coffee for the day. The bedroom Velux blind is remote controlled and the ones from the en-suite offer views of green fields to the rear. A sunny afternoon will invite you to share the views towards the estuary, as you sit within the orchard on the garden furniture and chat about times gone by. Also within walking distance is the local family run pub The Ship Inn which has an extensive food menu with great reviews. Discover the local amenities within the town or pay a visit to nearby Holywell, with a variety of attractions awaiting your arrival. Manchester and Liverpool are also within easy reach. You also have the city of Chester an easy drive away, with its famous zoo and a wealth of shop, pubs and restaurants as well a walks along the Roman Wall. The coastal resort of Colwyn Bay is also worth a visit, as is the whole of the Snowdonia National Park, a superb base for touring a lovely region of Wales.

This small town rests near Holywell in North Wales and overlooks the Dee Estuary, with a few local shops, pubs and parkland, and the Wales Coastal Path passes through the town by the side of the River Dee. Choose to explore the city of Chester, with its Roman Walls, racecourse and zoo, while Colwyn Bay has beaches, a promenade, a leisure centre and the Welsh Mountain Zoo.

Wow double wow. I have stayed in some holiday cottages and this one is by far the best. The bed was so comfortable and the upstairs shower/bath was luxury. So dog friendly and Simon and Jo were so friendly and helpful. Perfect hosts. Visited Chester/West Kirby/coast path/Wepre park/RSPB Burton Mere. My dog Toffee loved it too. Can I just say thank you again from both of us and I will definitely be back.
