A bijou, tranquil, romantic retreat, just for two, almost hidden in a secluded woodland glade. This compact cottage has a large wildlife pond (4’ deep) across the front lawn and 12 acres of mature woodland to explore, making it naturalists’ and bird watchers’ paradise, just 1½ miles from the coastal village of Solva. Converted from what was the laundry to a manor house, this pretty little detached Pembrokeshire holiday cottage has been furnished and equipped in a modern contemporary style. The property is finished to exacting standards which maximise the available space of this historic building. Cosy and warm with a wood burner in the open plan living space, it offers underfloor heating, a very smart wet room and a delightful sheltered walled rear garden with patio and furniture. There are lots of dog-friendly walks from your doorstep - take the woodland trail which passes the gated cottage entrance into the harbour village of Solva with its restaurants, and you can also take a fishing trip from the harbour even learn to sail!

Woodland retreat is a beautiful little cottage that met all our needs for a wonderful holiday in Pembrokeshire.It was very nicely presented and safe for our dog as well.It is very well equipped with an excellent shower.The kitchen/lounge too has everything needed for a comfortable stay.In exceptionally hot weather, the lounge can get a little warm due to heat from the boiler cupboard but this would be a real bonus in cooler weather. Having access to the outside shed to store outside gear is also much appreciated.

We found the Old Laundry to be a perfect base for exploring Pembrokeshire. The directions were helpful in finding it; even though a vehicle was parked in front of the road sign in Solva, we still worked it out. The cottage is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The only thing that could be better is the amount of storage space for clothes and food. However, that did not spoil our enjoyment as the weather was good and we ate out quite a lot.

Not for light sleepers. The beautiful cottage and a gorgeous location is perfect for a trip to explore the area and coast. Great for dog walks from the cottage, we even walked to the pub in Solva one night. It’s clean and nicely presented. Great WiFi if you are on a work trip. The only thing that lets it down is an unfortunate noisy boiler that will keep you awake if you are a light sleeper. Such a shame because otherwise perfect.
