Dog Friendly Cottages Lake District

From the rippling serenity of Windemere to its mountainous rugged fells, the Lake District boasts some of the most impressive landscapes in England. A popular holiday spot since the 18th century, its glorious 2,362 km2 expanse became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2017. Discover our equally stunning collection of properties here.

Dog-Friendly Holidays in the Lake District

The Lake District is a true outdoorist's dream, but you don't need to be a hiking expert or kayaker to enjoy the breadth of its stunning scenery.

As well as the area's most famous lake, there are also endless trails of dog walking heaven with one of the most popular routes being a laid-back but breathtaking ten mile walk around Derwent Water. More adventurous pooches can also join you to the summit of nearby Catbells, with both routes being accessible from the convenient starting point of Keswick Launch.

Outside of the countryside, the area holds numerous other attractions that make it one of the best places in the world to take your dog on holiday. The Windermere cruise across the lake is dog-friendly, as is the steam-powered old-world fun of both Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and The National Trust's Steam Yacht Gondola. The railway even has water bowls and doggy welcome packs at each end of the line!

Types of Dog-Friendly Accommodation in The Lake District

From traditional lakeside jetties to sit on and watch the sailboats float by to rural cabins in idyllic Cumbria, we have a stunning variety of properties that make for the most unforgettable pet-friendly holidays in the Lake District.

Pet-Friendly Cottages in the Wider Lake District

With our extensive collection, you and your pup can enjoy everything from a Grasmere lake-view cottage to a secluded cabin on the outskirts of Kendal. We also have luxurious lodges and cosy modern log cabins offering breathtaking views and relaxing amenities like hot tubs and picturesque gardens. Many also feature boot rooms for after a muddy day on the trail, as well as secure storage for bikes and other other outdoor equipment.

Dog-Friendly Cottages Around Windermere

Around Windermere, you'll find a jaw-dropping collection of Lodges and Cottages within walking distance of the bustling twin towns of Bowness and Windermere. These properties often boast outdoor areas a short distance from the lake for watersports enthusiasts, as well as convenient parking for taking a short walk into the towns.

Cosy log-burning stoves create the perfect atmosphere in winter while raised patios boast excellent views of the lake in the warmer seasons. Many properties also feature BBQ equipment and outdoor seating areas to help you dine in style!

Browse our phenomenal range of properties and get in touch with us if you have any special requests. We'll do everything we can to help you make your stay unforgettable.
