Come morning, take a long soak in the indulgent free-standing copper bath, or perhaps opt for a quick shower, before enjoying a coffee whilst looking outward towards the rolling fields.

Once you're ready to explore, grab your walking boots and follow one of many trails throughout the North Pennines, possible to reach a range of beauty spots including Ashgill Force, the summit of Cross Fell, Long Meg and her daughters, and more. For sites of interest and other activities, head to the Grade 1 listed Hutton in the Forest, take a trip back in time on the steam train at South Tynedale Railway, or do a spot of fishing for salmon or trout on the famous river Eden.

Travelling towards Penrith, enjoy tours of the resident castle, stock up on your local knowledge at Penrith and Eden Museum, or spend your afternoon hiking through Thacka Beck Nature Reserve.

The city of Carlisle is also reachable by car, dotted with attractions alongside River Eden, including its grand Cathedral, Carlisle Castle and Gardens, Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, and Upperby Park, not to mention the world famous Hadrian's Wall. All showcasing the area's charm and culture.
