Kirkby Stephen is a charming rural town with a vibrant neighbourhood and many historic old homes. It has cobbled old yards, charming corners, and a lovely picnic area where "Frank's Bridge" crosses the River Eden. A mile from the town, the old railway station connects to the magnificent Settle-Carlisle Railway line, a must-do travel experience for everyone. Visit the gothic gorge where the River Eden flows through the forested Stenkrith Park, one of the many wonderful walking and cycling paths in the area, and the historic train line connecting Darlington and Tebay.
