A delightful first floor apartment situated amongst the rolling countryside of the Esthwaite Valley in the glorious Lake District. The village of Sawrey is situated two miles from Hawkshead down the eastern side of Esthwaite Water. Sawrey consists of two separate hamlets - Near Sawrey and Far Sawrey - both with a cluster of picturesque cottages, tea rooms and pubs.

The property was clean and adequate with some essentials provided. being new to the area, some suggestions for good walks as a dog friendly lodging would have been helpful. During our stay it was extremely wet and we wanted to have the log burner on to dry out and warm up, but were told that logs were not provided. I felt this was a bit misleading when the property contained a log burner. The location was very quiet with beautiful surroundings and there was a lovely walk around the Esthwaite to the Boathouse café which was worth a visit. It is within walking distance of a couple of pubs too.

The WC and cistern were loose and dangerous when we arrived - why had no one noticed it before? There was no plug or washing up bowl in the kitchen sink. The carpet was covered in thick dog hair - so the carpet had not been hoovered sufficiently. The fridge was broken and we had two replacements. Very little was supplied in the way of cleaning liquids cloths rubbish bags etc. The casing to the electric shower was loose! The only good thing about it is the location but even that will not make us return.
