Barney's Hideaway is a well-regarded cottage in Glossop, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and convenient location close to local amenities. Guests appreciate the property's well-equipped nature and the owner's friendly communication. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests have highlighted the exceptional standard of cleanliness. One review mentioned a lack of attention to detail in some areas, but this seems to be an isolated comment within the context of otherwise positive feedback.
The location is consistently praised for being close to shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as for its proximity to walking trails and the town centre. The ease of parking and the quietness of the area are also appreciated.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with spacious rooms and cosy living spaces. There is a mention of a squeaky bed in the attic room, suggesting a slight deduction in the comfort score.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and a jacuzzi bath being highlights. However, some guests noted areas for improvement such as garden maintenance and the need for sharper knives, indicating room for enhancement in facilities and maintenance.

Glossop, a thriving former mill town, is located in the northwest of Derbyshire and is encircled by breath-taking Peak District landscape. The town has a wide variety of stores, bars, and eateries in addition to a golf course with a pay-per-play system. Glossop Hall, which belonged to the Dukes of Norfolk, previously had its grounds in the area now known as Manor Park. With tennis courts, a children's play area, a semi-natural woodland, and bowling greens, it now makes a great summertime picnic location. Glossop's location near the Peak District National Park, which has a variety of activities for tourists, cyclists, and hikers, makes it a perfect place to explore.
