Dog Friendly Cottages in Kent

With fascinating Roman ruins, dramatic coastlines, and miles of beautiful orchards, Kent is the perfect place for a pet-friendly getaway. Discover a collection of luxurious homes where you can unwind after exploring the Garden of England's lush landscapes and fabulous coastal attractions.

Dog-friendly Holidays in Kent

One of England's oldest counties, Kent is steeped in rich history and gorgeous landscapes. Its white cliffs were the first place the Romans landed when they started their 43 AD conquest of Britannia, and as such the county is littered with an array of well-preserved ruins to visit.

You and your dog can wander around one of the world's few remaining Roman lighthouses built in the 1st century AD. You'll also find plenty of medieval history at Dover Castle.

Kent's 350 miles of picturesque coastline make it the ideal destination if you're looking for a sandy getaway by the waves. Charming coastal towns like Broadstairs and Dungeness offer a serene seaside visit while larger coastal towns like Margate offer more of the quintessential British beach experience. Enjoy award-winning food in a local dog-friendly restaurant or indulge in local delicacies like the oysters from Whitstable.

Further inland, over 70% of Kent's countryside is undeveloped, so you'll find scenic countryside landscapes in areas like Wye and Ashford with endless views of rolling hills and lush forestry. You'll also be able to enjoy traditional local activities with your pooch, like strawberry and hazelnut picking!

Types of Dog-Friendly Accommodation in Kent

Whether you want a calming stay with idyllic views of cliffs and lighthouses or a cosy cabin in the heart of Kent's beautiful countryside, our stunning collection of dog-friendly accommodation in Kent will have you never wanting to leave.

Dog-Friendly Cottages in Kent by the Sea

The unspoilt coastline makes Kent a haven for pet-friendly holiday homes. You’ll find cute cottages where you can walk out of your front door straight to the beach, expansive coastal holiday homes and luxurious retreats in converted working lighthouses.

Some properties even come with their own piers, as well as easy access to Kent's bustling seaside towns. Expect great amenities like BBQ equipment to rustle up some alfresco dining, large private parking spaces, and hot tubs for relaxing after a long walk!

Rural dog-friendly holidays in Kent

Across the Kent countryside, you can discover properties in nature reserves, gorgeous converted huts overlooking meadows, and contemporary cabins with breathtaking features such as private lakes.

Your pooch will enjoy plenty of space to run around whilst you enjoy a night by the fire with a wood-burning stove. Properties also sometimes feature panoramic views and dog friendly enclosed gardens.

The Romans certainly picked a breathtaking place to land when they set sail for Britain's shores. With the sheer wealth of interesting activities, picturesque landscapes, and stunning holiday properties, you should definitely make your dream pet-friendly cottage in Kent a reality. What our customers say about their holidays

  • Joseph - Verified booking

The property generally was quite good but with a few problems.

    1. The wooden slats under the mattress were damaged causing the mattress to fall though them the first time I used it. I managed to patch them up temporarily. 2. The bedding was awful. All polyester- causing my wife and I to sweat profusely, made worse by the warm weather. We ended up buying a new cotton duvet cover, sheet and pillowcases. 3. The shower was excellent (one of the best I have ever used) but the shallowness of the shower tray meant I had to keep checking to see if it was overflowing. 4. Wi-Fi. Couldn't get it to work on any of our devices. Maybe it was my ineptitude. Maybe it was the complicated password which had been written with amendments added to it. Very frustrating. I gave up with it. 5. The Ninja had not been washed/cleaned prior to our arrival. There was a significant amount of oil and food residue left in it. I cleaned the inside containers myself but they were pretty grubby and needed soaking, suggesting to me they had not been cleaned properly for some time. 6. The house itself was good apart from the above niggles. The location was fantastic with easy walking access to the beach, Whitstable and Tankerton. The bus stopping outside was a real bonus allowing us to travel to Canterbury and Herne Bay. 7. Sykes. I didn't like doing business with the rental company. I thought the tone of their emails to be abrupt bordering on threatening. I was surprised by the booking fee. They charged me for a pet which I did not request. I won't book through them again.

This lovely cottage was well located within the farm.

In fact next to a stable block which was wonderful. The owners were welcoming to both us and our dog. The property is a very carefully refurbished barn conversion spotless and with all amenities. Far reaching views to the North Downs/ Pilgrims Way were glorious. The surrounding countryside was Kent at its best full of exquisite villages, historic churches, magnificent buildings and estates and really good pubs. Canterbury and the North Kent coast (Whitstable) were easily accessible. Located in prime walking country, most notably the North Downs Way, there are an abundance of interesting, well signed rights of way at every turn. All in all a very enjoyable break in an underated and beautiful part of England.

Cottage was excellent, warm, cosy, relaxing.

Everything we needed was there, great welcome pack even included our dog. Sounds petty but having things like coffee, washing up stuff, hand wash, milk, salt & pepper provided a bonus how often you forget them or have to go & buy. Good selection of books dvds etc. Owners very friendly & helpful wish we could have seem them more (perhaps if had stayed longer). Polly loved Jake & Loki fellow Jack Russels. Having no WIFI made it more relaxing still had phones for emergencies. Really did not want to leave & wished we could have stayed longer. Well definitely come back. Would love to stay in the summer so could access the walks (obviously everywhere still waterlogged due to all the excessive rain recently)

Bolton Barn very comfortable and equipped with everything possible.

It was "homely", which is very important. Mr and Mrs King were around; going about their normal lives and tremendously helpful. There was milk, eggs and homemade cake when we arrived - which was lovely. There was a fenced-in paddock for the dog (who has returned home shattered). Well-stocked shops in Lenham, plus fish and chip shop and several pubs. Picturesque villages, towns and castles. Especially if you have a dog and are interested in industrial archeology, go see the gunpowder mills at Oare (I am soooo sad I've now been twice). Natural scenery is lovely too - we had the benefit of beautiful weather at the end of September and the trees beginning to turn.

    Bolton Barn was excellent.

However, I booked through Booking.com and communication was not as good as it should have been. In response to an email from Booking.com, I advised my arrival time. This was acknowledged by an email. When I arrived at the specified time, no one was available to let me in. I went off to buy some provisions and when I returned an hour later, the owner was home. She told me that I should have been given the code to a key safe. I was not given this code by Booking.com or Sykes Cottages. It all worked out but it was an avoidable problem.
