A Hidden Gem Full of Character and ComfortFrom the moment we arrived, we knew we were somewhere special. We entered the cottage through a private gateway where the thoughtful owners had even left a pull-along trolley to help with our bags—such a lovely touch.The cottage itself has a fascinating history, having been used during WWII and later as a WI and scout meeting room. That charm and character remains, but the level of finish is absolutely luxurious. Every detail has been carefully thought through—the shower alone rivalled that of a 5-star hotel!On our first day, we took a gentle stroll through the village and discovered a fantastic pub just 10 minutes away (at a relaxed pace), where we were pleased to find they served gluten-free options.Day two saw us exploring Holmbury St Mary. The walk there took under 40 minutes through stunning woodland, where we were lucky enough to spot plenty of wildlife. We ended the day unwinding in the beautiful hot tub and sitting outside, soaking up the peaceful surroundings.On our third day, we explored Leith Hill and were rewarded with incredible views across the valley. Although we didn’t bring bikes, we definitely felt we missed an opportunity—cycling through the area would have been amazing and let us explore even more. We rounded off the day at another lovely pub with a fantastic menu.This cottage gave us the perfect blend of relaxation, nature, and comfort, and we’re already thinking about when we can return. A true hidden gem—highly recommended!
