Inside, this beautifully curated retreat is warm and welcoming, with soft, sink-into sofas gathered around the crackle of a woodburner—the perfect spot for movie nights or long, unhurried conversations after a day of adventure. The light-filled farmhouse kitchen, with its generous dining space, invites leisurely breakfasts and home-cooked suppers, while doors open onto the terrace, blurring the line between inside and out. Here, the fresh country air drifts through, and the family naturally spills into the garden, where laughter lingers into the evening.
Upstairs, three thoughtfully designed bedrooms offer a restful sanctuary. The master suite, with its charming window seat overlooking the garden, is a dream spot for slow mornings with a coffee in hand. The loft bedroom, a cosy hideaway for children or teenagers, provides a secret escape of their own. Contemporary bathrooms, designed with relaxation in mind, offer soothing spaces to refresh after salty days by the sea.

Tucked away in the rolling hills above East Portlemouth, Moorstone was the perfect spot for a slow weekend by the sea. The cottage feels like a real home—welcoming, simply styled, and designed for easy living. Mornings started with coffee in the garden, while the children ran about happily, enjoying the open space before we set off for the day’s adventures. With the Salcombe ferry just a short drive away and stunning coastal walks on the doorstep, there was plenty to explore. After long afternoons of sea air and sandcastle building, we returned to cook up simple suppers in the well-equipped kitchen, before sinking into the sofa for a film and a glass of well deserved wine. With comfy beds, plenty of space, and a great location for family adventures, this is the kind of place that makes relaxing effortless. A proper little hideaway we’d love to return to.
