Smugglers Cottage dates from the 18th century and can be found in the heart of the pretty seaside village of Flamborough within the East Riding of Yorkshire. Offering the best in Yorkshire accommodation over three floors, this historic cottage, complete with original smugglers door, is within walking distance of the beach and is just perfect for two couples or friends to enjoy a seaside break. The cosy living room with a wood burner and deep filled leather settees is perfect to return to for an evening in front of the TV. To the rear of the cottage is a small but well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons to assist you in preparing a delicious home cooked meal. Both the first and second floors are packed with character, with original beams and exposed brick work. On the first floor is the house shower room with walk in shower, and a double bedroom. Take the stairs to the second floor and it is here you will find the master double room nestled into the eaves. Tucked into the far corner you will find one of the original smuggler’s doors. This room has exposed brickwork and provides enough room for a small settee, a toilet and sink are tucked around the corner, and the free-standing roll top bath is an absolute delight. It is bound to make you smile!

Flamborough village offers lots of amenities with a choice of pubs, cafés and shops. You can also find the UK’s oldest complete lighthouse here. Spend a day exploring Flamborough Head, enjoy relaxing on the miles of beach or marvel at the towering Bempton Cliffs. For those who enjoy walking and cycling, explore the miles of footpaths and bridleways that criss cross the unspoilt Yorkshire Wolds. A little further afield are the seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby, and the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
