Stepping over the threshold into the entrance hallway, you will be welcomed by high ceilings and tasteful decor with both flair and character. The magnificent open plan living/dining and sitting room area is perfect for entertaining in an evening, with comfortable seating for everyone to gather together. Sit back and relax on the sofas in front of the roaring open fire, enjoying a movie night, planning the days ahead or getting competitive over a board game. Dinner at the dining table is a delight, to have everyone around the sweeping long table makes every meal time a special occasion. The kitchen is well equipped and ready for you to create culinary delights to share. Older children can disappear into the games room where they will find a games console. There’s also a utility room which can be used for your laundry on longer stays, as well as a ground floor super kingsize zip and link en-suite double room with garden access – perfect for those who struggle with stairs. A WC completes the ground floor accommodation.
Upstairs you have the choice of four well-presented bedrooms with a master super kingsize bedroom complete with an en-suite shower, two double bedrooms and a zip and link twin bedroom which can be made up as a double on request. A family bathroom completes the picture. On warm summer days, the large garden to the back of the property is ideal to enjoy an evening BBQ, and gives you a sense of privacy and tranquillity from the outside world. The hot tub is a real bonus too, here you can sit and enjoy the warming bubbles after a long day exploring the local area.
Just a gentle stroll to the North Beach in Bridlington where you can enjoy traditional fish and chips, pick up the land train into town or stroll along the golden sand. If you are keen on fishing, you can fish from the beach, hire a day trip on a boat from the harbour, bring your catch back and cook it for tea on the barbecue. Nearby you have the impressive Georgian stately home of Sewerby Hall with beautiful gardens. There are golf courses at Sewerby for pitch and putt, or a proper round if you fancy playing golf. There are family attractions at the Bridlington Leisure Centre a short distance away, including the swimming pool with fun slides and the clip and climb walls. The Bridlington Spa hosts many shows or meet the creatures at the Bridlington’s Animal Park. From the harbour there are several boat trips from the fast and furious to bird spotting tours. For avid nature lovers, walkers and those who love the outdoors, there’s Danes Dyke, South Landing, Flamborough Head and light house, and Bempton Cliff rspb Nature Reserve not far away, with the Yorkshire Wolds and Yorkshire Moors a little further.

This is a great house for a big family, we had 5 generations together and 2 dogs and the downstairs ensuite was perfect. The owners were very good at answering any queries we had quickly. This is the third time we have stayed at this property and will be returning we love it.

Nine of us stayed aged from 7 to 87 and all of us had an amazing stay. The house is spotless, well equipped and really well laid out. Loads of places to visit really close by and the hot tub was a real bonus. The information prior to our visit was comprehensive and really helpful, I can’t recommend this property enough. The standard is top notch for the price.

We had another great holiday based at The Gables. It is in an excellent location being within walking distance of the North Beach at Brid but the place needs maintenance especially in the family bathroom. The dining room chairs could do with a bit of love too!The hot tub is always a bonus when the chemicals are right but cottages.com did get someone to come and look at it even if they were 12 hours late.Having said all this we are planning another visit but partly because there are not many other big houses on the right side of town.
