Boats sail regularly from Tarbert (10 miles) both to St Kilda and around the island. For those seeking a cultural taste of the island, visit the Harris Gin Distillery, also at Tarbert and sample the local gin and whisky, or watch how traditional Harris tweed is made at Gearrannan Blackhouse Village (56 miles) a restored crofting village offering a unique insight into the history of the island.
