What our customers say about their holidays

Cottage is bright and airy, cosy and charming in a rural location.
It had everything we needed for a comfortable, pleasant and restful stay. Owners are very personable and easy to deal with. Gaining access was straightforward. Parking is relatively convenient although there is a steep climb up a narrow path to the rear of the property, bear in mind when unpacking and loading the car on arrival and departure. The garden is private and the setting is altogether very peaceful. A couple of things to note, stairs are steep and narrow which caused me some anxiety. I navigated them slowly, sideways each time - there is a handrail, Hot water is plentiful, it is very hot so be careful. There is a selection of games, books and information which could do with a bit of a sort out and refresh as all a bit tatty and out of date. The cupboard itself was disorganised, dusty and cobweb strewn. On that note the vacuum was situated in the wardrobe in the bedroom which deterred me from hanging up my freshly laundered clothes. Whilst I could have moved it I did think it a little strange as the housekeeperâs cupboard was next to it, surely it could be stored there, out of the way. No disrespect, I love l a Henry. The local village is a low key affair and nearest hostelries are approximately a 10 min drive away. We were very content to cook, light a fire, read/chat or watch Netflix most evenings after a busy day out and about. I personally found having 5 remote controls too much, although thankfully James was on the end of the phone, promptly to assist. Perhaps a simple radio would be a welcome addition for those of us who find smart TVs a little too clever. Plenty to do and see in the surrounding area. We enjoyed our stay, it was relaxed, restorative and recommended.

My second time to this lovely, cosy and welcoming cottage.
No problems with booking, key and travel information and the cottage is exactly as advertised. Itâs definitely not for anyone with mobility issues or young children as the path up to the cottage is fairly long and steep, as well as a narrow steep staircase up to the bedroom. The cottage had everything i needed except maybe a decent pair of scissors and knife sharpener (which of course are very minor), plenty of towels, blankets and comfy bedding and pillows and a really nice big bed with a lovely view! Make sure you bring some bird seed with you as there are loads of beautiful birds who visited! I had a Tesco delivery on the day I arrived which was crucial! The driver was amazing and brought everything up to the cottage so I didnât have to lug it all up the path, so this is a must :) The only downside this year unfortunately was the house that sits opposite the track up to the cottage was having extensive building work done, therefore lots of noise from power saws, drills diggers and hammering. I know this is absolutely not the owners fault but this really impacted the peaceful position of the cottage, which was one of the reasons I chose it in the first place. There were also traffic lights which covered the end of the track which meant getting out was a bit hairy. As I said, not the owners fault but there you go. I have booked to come again next year as the cottage itself is just lovely, itâs in a perfect position for visiting Criccieth, Harlech, Porthmadog, Pwthelli and more! Definitely recommend Harlech beach if you have a dog, itâs massive and plenty of room for a good run with the pup! Hopefully the building work will be complete next year :)

We really enjoyed our stay here.
We arrived a bit early, so we could find the location in the daylight as we thought it might be a bit tricky to locate (it was) and it was just about to be cleaned so we went off to explore. The property is very nice, clean, modern and with tasteful good quality furnishings. Downstairs is more spacious than expected. It has everything you can possibly need. The little courtyard is really cute but as it was January we didnât get to enjoy it. Had the best sleep we have had in ages, comfy beds (a bit soft to our preference but still ok) and it was soooo quiet. Being January it was very cold but heating in the property was great, and we were very cosy. We parked in front of the bungalow as instructed, itâs a bit of a tight squeeze getting past the houses in Henbont Rd if youâve got a large car. Criccieth is lovely, we went to the little cafe Tir a Mor by the level crossing which was very nice (it was closed after that at the start of the week which was disappointing as we would have gone back). Also wanted a Chinese takeaway on our final night but it was closed due to Chinese New Year so we got a kebab & burger from the shop on the High St instead which was awful. We also ate at Dylanâs which was OK. Would thoroughly recommend this property!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Bron Olau.
The garden was filled with birdsong and the views were magnificent. There were many walks just on the doorstep into the mountains or along valleys with mossy boulder strew streams and waterfalls. Bedroom was comfortable and clean for a good night's sleep, as were the sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. It is close to a major road, though set back up a rise, so there is some traffic noise. Loading and offloading was made easier by the kind use of a neighbour's parking space, but people with walking difficulties might struggle even so. There are some awkward steps inside the house to watch out for and large people may find one doorway and the stairs a bit narrow. I am 6ft 2 and had to duck quite a lot! I don't use induction hobs or ovens as the instructions for each model are always different and far too complicated. Also the owner has no cups with handles that I could find. But all in all a very rejuvenating stay.

The booking was organised in an extremely efficient way, pre-holiday queries were addressed politely and helpfully and our self inflicted crisis on a dark and cold Sunday evening was managed so kindly and calmly.
I canât quite believe that there was such an impressive helpline available to us out of office hours. Every single aspect of Menai holidays assistance has been exemplary throughout our holiday for which we are so very grateful. The apartment was very well decorated and organised with so many helpful additions that made the holiday enjoyable. It was cosy, clean and tidy with very friendly neighbours around who were happy to chat to us as visitors. The way the outside space was designed was ideal for us to feel secure and private, and we felt very spoiled with auto lighting... we have serious courtyard envy now and since being home, am slightly confused when lights donât come on immediately as we enter!! The town was delightful; we found open and friendly people and great service in cafes shops and restaurants in the most beautiful setting with both coastal and beach walks for dogs.
