Dog Friendly Cottages In Hunstanton

Explore our gorgeous range of dog-friendly accommodation in Hunstanton to discover the iconic striped cliffs, delightful gardens and pristine beaches of this historic Victorian town. We’ve got cosy cottages, luxurious lodges, and unique cabins in our collection.

Dog-Friendly Holidays in Hunstanton

Nestled on the far side of the Norfolk Coast, you'll discover Hunstanton. A popular seaside resort since 1846, it still exudes the same Victorian seaside character and charm today.

The town is split into two halves, each with a distinct atmosphere. The old town is characterised by winding cobbled streets, stone-built cottages and historic pubs. Meanwhile, the modernised side is packed full of family-friendly seaside activities such as arcades and rides.

Across both areas, you’ll find beaches you and your pup will love. Old Hunstanton Beach is peaceful, while New Hunstanton Beach is bustling. Hunstanton also overlooks a large bay towards Skegness and as such, you can find a few great spots to enjoy a beach sunset.

Adventurous pups can also take to the sea with you on a boat tour. Searles Sea Tours offers fantastic trips either along the coastline or further out for seal watching, and your canine companion is welcome aboard.

For more idyllic walkies close to Hunstanton, you can pick up the Norfolk Coast Path section that cuts through the breathtaking Holme Dunes National Nature Reserve. You can also enjoy a self-guided horticultural walk through Hunstanton itself taking in all the wonderfully kept flower gardens.

For rainy days, head towards nearby Cromer and enjoy a trip through history on The North Norfolk Heritage Railway. The steam-powered service runs for 5 and a half miles between Sheringham and Holt.

To refuel after a day of exploring, you'll find plenty of dog-friendly restaurants in Hunstanton. The Mariner Inn is one of our favourites, serving traditional pub classics with an upmarket twist.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Judith - Verified booking

    Pretty awful.

Had I known it was semi-detached I would not have booked - I go on holiday to get away from other peoples diy, noise, gaze etc. The sea is visible - just - from parts of the bungalow - after you look past the Indian restaurant opposite - the cooking fumes from which mean opening any of the front windows is not pleasant for most of the day and evening. The litter bin directly opposite the lounge does offer good entertainment in the mornings as the seagulls skilfully get out all the previous evenings take-away remains and see what’s left for them - sadly the rubbish stays in the road. The kitchen facilities are very poor - the fridge is on its last legs keeping things vaguely cool at best - it also tips forward when opened. Very very limited cooking facilities - should be made clear there isn’t a normal cooker or hob. The ‘sofa’ was very poor - a series of cubes that drift apart as soon as you sit on them - my back soon let me know just how poor quality the sofa and bed were. The bungalow is very small - how on earth 6 people would fit in I have no idea - I found the bungalow very cluttered and 8 highly scented reed diffusers in the small space were sickeningly overpowering . The bungalow is a goldfish bowl - wide open to the close gaze of the public from 2 sides and neighbours at the back - there is no privacy at all. Curtains would help in the back bedroom as the streetlight shines straight through the Venetian blinds at night. On arrival - stickers on the doors made clear that the bungalow is ‘under CCTV surveillance’ - why? - surely this is something that should be declared and explained as part of the property details? I have never stayed in a Sykes Cottage under CCTV surveillance before - it was quite a nasty surprise. I wonder if there are cameras inside too? The fact that my movements were being monitored - by I knew not whom or why - along with the very dodgy parking arrangements - not somewhere I would go in the dark - being at the property made me feel very unsafe and uncomfortable indeed. The ‘welcome notes’ made a big thing of what to do in the event of problems with the neighbours and ‘forbid’ you being outside the property between 10pm and 6am - a really dreadful atmosphere to set. I abandoned my stay at this property half way through - such was the level of discomfort I felt just being there. I have awarded one star for the fruit basket and the fact that the bungalow wasn’t dirty - it wasn’t spotless by any means but it was ok. However, the negative aspects far far outweigh anything positive and I would not recommend the property in any way.

This holiday was booked for memories.

My husband went over the rainbow 2 years ago & being lucky enough to have a motorhome we would holiday in areas near Hunstanton. Most days we would go for afternoon tea at the Bowling green cafe, where I did visit. When I arrived I couldn't get the key box open so I asked a young couple if they could help me, they got me in after numerous phone calls, they were amazing even emptied my car. I had a good sleep as I had driven from Leeds & was over tired. On Sunday I needed a shower but it wouldn't turn on, so I thought for now I will just have a wash.... NO HOT WATER. Thankfully I did eventually find the switch for the shower high up on the wall outside of the bathroom, but still no running hot water & no instructions, & the toilet seat didn't fit properly it slipped from side to side. The bedroom was ok although the bed was quite hard, the kitchen was ok, but no hot water in there either & no cutlery & I noticed that the microwave wasn't fit straight. The room was the one most depressing room I've ever had to use. All the furniture was brown & old fashioned. There's a sideboard that reeks of fustiness & heyoi i found the cutlery in the stinking drawer. I had to take out what I would use boil some water & let them soak to get rid of the smell. The old fashioned lamp next to the tv was annoying as the bulb was protruding above the shade. Niggling complaints, the bottom of the bowl was disgusting & hadn't been cleaned & the waste bin hadn't been cleaned before the liner was put in, a tv in the bedroom would be nice you don't have to watch it if you don't want to ..... I left on the Wednesday as I was so disappointed & the room was so depressing, unfortunately my friend had to cancel coming with me. It's time for the owners of the flat to upgrade & modernise that room. The flat 2 doors up is beautiful & modern done out in cream. Maybe the owner of Surf should have a look at it. It wasn't a cheap holiday.. I feel well & truly let down as this holiday was supposed to be very special&was anything but Yes you can publish it, i don't believe the comments unless the people who commented were old & didn't mind old grotty furniture. Good points were very close to beach easy parking.

Bad points were as follows; Main bedroom could not walk round bed on one side due to large wardrobe in the room, double glazing in window is blown, not enough powers points. Second bedroom ok accept there is a very cheap IKEA pull down wardrobe in room again double glazing window is blown, we slept in this room as the beds were comfortable. Kitchen plenty of utensils new cooker but pans and trays were old and dirty these could be updated or replaced. Living room no wi_fi available television at night reception from Ariel kept casing in and out, do I G table has seen lots of days and is very old. Toilet and shower are extremely poor old wall heater, the shower is very weak and you have to step up about a foot to get into it, the shower doors and curtain are not user friendly And could do with a revamp In all we enjoyed our few days at Hunstanton but the Surf facility !etc it down somewhat as we both felt the flat washout dated and could do with a a total refit in the bathroom and the bedrooms and would benefit from having wi_fi etc. Front door and window in living room is drafty as well.

Having used this bungalow last year we had no hesitation booking again for this year.

Unfortunately things were not as they were last year, site improvements had taken place with decking in the garden however we were faced with the following upon arrival - Half eaten food in fridge, Dirty plates and saucepans, Dirty oven (possibly mold), Dirty air fryer, Mud on floor, Rubbish in rooms, Mis-functioning TV, Dog hairs and smell plus a number of other issues. All these things are not what you'd expect when starting a holiday, I go on holiday to relax, not do the cleaning. The more important and I feel serious concern has to be the owner failing to respond to any attempts to contact them. Phone, text and emails all went unanswered. I even contacted the booking website who were very helpful but also had difficulty in making contact. Upon my return home I emailed the owner with all this information and more together with photo evidence showing what was found, again after a week no responce. The serious question has to be 'what would someone do if a serious situation arose with the property and you were unable to safely continue your stay, who do you contact?' I'm still awaiting a reply!

Lovely location, Flat was quite roomy,shower/toilet was very nice, kitchen was fine even though it was odds and sods of cooking items and utensils.

Plates, side plates, dishes matched, brilliant microwave. Button on the kettle that opens the lid was broken. Double Bedroom a bit cramped, the mattress was awful , spring dug in you which ever way you layer, curtains fitted where they touched and very faded, could get curtains out of charity shop, furniture was nice, air freshener on top of wardrobe was possibly 12 months old dried up to the size of a fifty pence. Single room was quite decent 2 single beds. Sheets towels etc was there, I used my own that I took with me and my used his own towels. Furniture in living room was too big if had been a tv unit would be better instead of large sideboard, also the table was a pain to keep putting the leaf up when you wanted to use it. Needs to be decorated to make it bright and cheerful, there was a foisty smell which was awful. A few cobwebs and windows needed cleaning. Flat ,as I said lovely position
