Dog Friendly Norwich Holiday Cottages

Norwich is a bustling historic city in Norfolk. Its rich history means there's plenty to see, from the beautiful cathedral to Felbrigg Hall and Norwich Castle, perched above the city. There are tempting spots for quiet walks, alongside lovely trails by the river, and through Eaton Park and The Plantation Garden. You'll also find tempting attractions for the whole family, such as the Norwich Aviation Museum and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art.

At Dog Friendly Cottages, we want to make sure that your pup can enjoy your holidays as much as you do. That's why we offer an incredible selection of holiday cottages in Norwich. We have spacious farmhouses and modern barn conversions for group holidays and family trips away. If you want something more private we have romantic cottages and luxury cabins where you can unwind in front of a cosy fireplace.

All our homes are perfectly situated for you to make the most of this appealing city destination. With historic buildings, you'll also find plenty of modern food and drink options in Norwich, from trendy cocktail bars to artisanal bakeries. If you fancy something simpler, you'll only be half an hour from seaside towns like Great Yarmouth, for fish and chips and ice cream on the beach.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Phil - Verified booking

We had an enjoyable stay at Wallflower cottage and would recommend it to others.

Its location affords particularly good access to the beach/ coast. However, with a little more attention, the owners could make this an even better offer. For example, we holidayed during the hottest week of the year but on arrival, discovered a winter duvet on the main bed. The bedroom door also rubbed on the carpet and really needs to be planed on the bottom. The potato peeler was also a bit pants but that may have just been my dodgy fingers. General instructions left on the coffee table could be improved to make most of the property and the surrounding areas. (The WiFi was a bit patchy and didn't extend further than the sofa and I had to link the SMART TV into the internet to access YouTube, iPlayer, Amazon, etc.) The property was cleaned to a good standard but certain areas looked a little tired (flaking paint and walls where guests have rubbed against); which will undoubtedly be addressed in the off-season. As mentioned, parking is a little tight at the front of the property but this can't be helped. Overall, a really nice stay that has left us with some pleasant memories. Thank you.

Ideal location for broads and coast.

Sweet characterful cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Modern heaters easy to use. Unfortunately the cottage has a large spider population and the patio was full of weeds so even if the weather had been better we wouldn't have wanted to sit out there (unless we weeded it ourselves!) We didn't find the cottage particularly comfortable, the dining chairs very hard, very small wardrobe in the main bedroom and no wardrobe, bedside table dressing table or drawers in the second double bedroom so nowhere to put anything, four wall hooks were supplied plus one on the door. Although only two of us, we needed to use both the rooms for health reasons (we are in our 70's). To make matters worse the very characterful cottage opposite has a security light flashing many times over night, straight through the very thin curtains so this disturbed our sleep. (Not the fault of the owner of course). Didn't like the absence of curtains or blinds in the kitchen and bathroom. However it is a very good location, lovely walks straight from the cottage.

Very quaint cottage in a friendly, welcoming village setting that’s accessible to many local attractions and far afield ones too.

The cottage itself is relatively new, as immaculate inside with all the essentials to make your stay comfortable. The welcome basket of tea, coffee, sugar and milk was a nice touch in view there is no shop within the village and you’re unable to access the property until 4pm. At the front there is just about enough room for a car, although not ideal for a large vehicle. Back courtyard is small and paved but ideal for a small dog and/or toddlers (no BBQ facilities). Only criticism is that the extractor fan over the cooker makes a racket if the wind is up and in the dead of the night it becomes even more apparent. The local pub, The Greyhound serves excellent pub gastro food and the staff are exceedingly friendly, as are the locals. We ate there twice over the New Year and walked away thoroughly stuffed from just eating mains - No desserts, which is unheard of for our family

We have been to foxley wood cottage before and its just such a relaxing retreat in the trees.

Its so safe with the private drive and electric gates. We love the walks and the Morrisons is a nice walk as only half a mile. Our dog just lays on his bed on the patio until midnight. We enjoy watching the aircraft and helicopters coming in for landing. Its a spacious lodge and has all you need to rest and recuperate from busy work loads. There are many things to do and some nice pubs too. We just like the rest and the calm quiet atmosphere. There is a cottage next door and so see the odd car come in but we stayed there before and they are both nice and owned by gary and he's very friendly. They leave you alone so you can enjoy your own break how you wish too. They live next door but its secluded so not at all intrusive. We are back in November this year 2019 and we will book for 2020 as well!

Well located for numerous excursions around north, central and east Norfolk.

A short car journey to Norwich too. (Norwich is hell to park in though; a great pity as we had to give up on exploring this once so important and prosperous city.) A great many brochures and booklets with information about what to do and see in Norfolk is available in the cottage. The WiFi is excellent. The TV reception is very poor which didn't bother me, Anna, in the least but my partner Keith was disappointed. Well equipped with a large fridge-freezer, a microwave oven, an electric induction hob and oven as well as a washing machine (!) along with basic kitchen equipment, clothes pegs, clothes airer (for drying laundry) and dustpan & brush and other odds and ends. There was 1 pint of milk in the fridge when we arrived as well as a few tea bags, coffee pods and a packet of biscuits.
