  A little gem. We loved our stay at Little Emmaus. Although small it contained everything we needed for a very comfortable week, with lots of homely, personal touches which were much appreciated. There were supplies of tea, coffee, sugar, and milk in the fridge, plus the particularly thoughtful touch of some home made cakes. The location is brilliant, private, quiet and peaceful, with uninterrupted views across the fields. As well as a good pub with beer garden five minutes stroll away there are beautiful walks from the doorstep, right across the reed marshes to the sea, or along to Blakeny, all sorts of possibilities. Within ten minutes drive are some wonderful quays and villages, another ten minutes would see you in Sheringham, five more on to Cromer. The bird life at Cley is fantastic - we even saw a snow owl out hunting one morning - and we deeply regretted not bringing binoculars. We could see there were partridges in the field but a closer look would have been a bonus! Tanya and Robin, whose home is across the yard behind the annex, are superb hosts. They are helpful, friendly, there if you need them, yet unintrusive. They have provided helpful leaflets and information on the area and some interesting books to browse through. And so, we have no hesitation in recommending Little Emmaus very highly.

  Little Emmaus is a clean, comfortable and well-equipped modern cottage situated at the rear of the owners property. We especially loved the lounge doors which opened onto a private patio overlooking fields of golden wheat. It was our favourite place to sit enjoying breakfast or an evening drink. There was also a private lawn situated down some steps with garden furniture. The location was very quiet and peaceful but only a 12 mins walk to the coastal path at Cley. Tanya and Robin were perfect hosts, on hand if we needed anything but not intrusive. There was a lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, fresh fruit and delicious homemade cakes. The information folder had lots of good suggestions packed full from local shops, places to eat and visit and local walks. We have stayed in Norfolk on 4 other occasions, at other coastal villages but considered Cley the best situated for exploration in both directions. If you pushed me for a 'con', I would say the kitchen area was a little small with only room for one and we missed a dishwasher. We probably only noticed this, as being septuagenarians, we decided not to eat out as we would normally do (due to the coronavirus) but cook our main meal. Wouldn't hesitate to book Little Emmaus again.

  Lovely hosts. Very comfy place for two people and a dog! I discovered Little Emmaus is located just a mile from the oldest nature reserve so enjoyed walks on the marshes, birdwatching. The view over the field is wonderful. We loved spotting the muntjac! We walked easily into Cley, nice for breakfast and lunch at the very dog-friendly Hanser eatery. Little Emmaus is ideally placed to discover this gorgeous part of North Norfolk. Thank you for our stay and hopefully see you again!

  Thank you very much, we really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, Just what we needed to help us on our recovery from a sudden death of a loving son. Waking up most mornings to see muntjac deer, 2 horses, wood pecker, kestrel & the little jenny wren was always a great start to the day, We spent our time at Cley nature reserve where we saw lots of birds, including the spotted crane! A trip to Trimmingham to see the colourful bee eaters was also a highlight. Many thanks.

  What a fab place to "call" home whilst exploring this lovely part of North Norfolk. We stayed local but still can’t believe we’re just a few minutes from the oldest wildlife reserve Cley/Salthouse. So many wonderful birds to spot. We loved Binham Priory and homemade food at The Three Horseshoes in Warham. The Harnser in Cley also very good. Loved spotting muntjacs from the window. Thank you for a lovely week at Little Emmaus.
