  Very small kitchen for the number of people.

  Where were the fridge shelves? Dining room table held together with duck tape. Shower and loo cramped. Not even a tea bag to welcome us. Few mugs - always a good idea to have double the number of mugs for the number of occupants. We live in an even older house and know the problems of alterations, but divided in a different way it would have made a more comfortable residence for both families. It might be helpful to indicate on the photo just how much of the house is included in the let. Few people would elect to go up and down quite so many stairs. Not recommended for those with elderly/infirm relatives or those with very young children.

  We have had a lovely time in Bamburgh. The cottage is beautiful and is in a great location. Alfie our Labrador x rescue has loved his trips to the beach. We have visited Seahouses and Alnwick. We also went to Edinburgh by train from Berwick. The Middle Inn & The Lord Crewe are both dog friendly, welcoming pubs. We have eaten at The Middle Inn and the food was delicious. We love this part of the country and will visit again. Thank you for the welcome pack. We also enjoyed everything we bought from the local butchers and the walk to Seahouses!

  Overall we enjoyed our stay.

  Host was very pleasant and approachable. There are a few details we feel should be added to listing. There are a lot of stairs as the property is split over four floors not three as is stated in the listing. The property is not the entire house but an extension on the side. The garden is shared with two other properties. Cot and dining room table were broken. Table was held together with gaffer tape. The wifi is patchy and can't be relied on.

  I thoght the lodge was lovely and set out well.

  It would have been more beneficial if I had received the digital welcome pack before we had arrived but it was delayed, however, I contacted the owner who gave us the WFI code but other informayion would have been helpful. There were only enough logs for one night, we had to buy more. There weren't any bin bags other than the ones that were in the bin. The hot water went off on Saturday morning so not all of us could get a hot shower.

  Cleanliness issues.

  Several stains on bottom sheets and on mattress which was discovered after cover was removed on leaving.(photos available) Oven looked clean but found when it came to use the oven very dirty and grimy with caked on grease on the bottom and sides which needed a thorough clean. Instructions for use of appliances should have been more prominent rather in utility room cupboard hidden amongst cleaning utensils.
