What our customers say about their holidays
Benjamin - Verified booking
I booked two houses on the same street for a friendly reunion with old school friends who now live all over the world.
Upon entering the property I was impressed with its décor and cleanliness. Although I wasnât staying in the house myself, my friends did and by virtue of this, did spend lots of time within the property. And for the first two days, I did wonder why the property had such poor ratings in comparison to the other house we booked on the same street. I personally donât have much to comment on in regards of the stay, however I was extremely upset to wake up to a workman parked outside of the property on the Monday morning. I approached the man as he was starting to paint the house with wet, white paint, clearly not appropriate when children were playing. I asked him why he was there doing such a job, and he replied that the owners had told him the house was empty. He said the owners have told him to come here in the past and the house has been occupied, however, holiday tenants had let him continue to paint. I expressed that I was not going to be one of those people and I though it was incredibly disrespectful to action maintenance works on a property that was being occupied. I manage property myself, and these works should be done in winter or when the house is empty. If the works need to be carried out in the summer months, then the owners should book a week from the website to do this work and should absolutely not be done when the property has been paid for. Itâs incredibly rude, self-serving, selfish and unprofessional. I was not going to ask my friends children to stop playing and to avoid the wet walls of a house when they have paid a lot of money for the use of this house for a holiday stay, itâs a completely ridiculous expectation, I was absolutely shocked. The gentleman thanked me for the conversation, shook my hand and left. Just over an hour later, after getting out of the shower, I noticed yet another van parked outside the house, with the boot open and two men walking towards the house with window cleaning equipment. My two friends were in the garden in bikinis with their naked infant children playing in the garden. Now, this was not only personally very triggering for me, but was an absolutely inappropriate situation to find us in. I was not informed about these men coming, I donât know if theyâve been DBS checked, I have no idea who these men are. Now, after rushing across the road post shower to have yet another confrontation. I found myself half naked, talking to two much older men, one of which was very old, the other, quite aggressive in his facial expression and stance. I expressed to these men that we were paying customers in the house and we donât want any non-priority maintenance work happening on the house whilst we stay there. To which I was met with distain and a lack of understanding. The younger man made it very clear he was going to continue with the cleaning of the windows and I left. I had to watch my friends and their children enter the house on a sunny day and draw the blinds whilst these men cleaned the windows. I felt completely disrespected, unheard and invalidated for asking these men to leave. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We shouldnât have to censor what we do around complete strangers whilst staying in a rented holiday home. I was absolutely disgusted that not only these works had been booked in on a week that it was occupied but that were not warned these works were going ahead. Also, when trying to stop the works from continuing, I was met with quite frankly, an aggressive reaction from one of the men (the older man was actually very sweet and didnât say anything.) These works should not only be happening, and most importantly, I should not have had to have these confrontational conversations when Iâm on holiday. I was supposed to be relaxing with my friends and quite frankly, I did not enjoy my remaining days of my holiday last week, it put me in quite a sad and deflated state of mind. I had to spend the whole of Monday on my won, away from my friends managing my own emotions surrounding the feelings that were evoked from these circumstances and interactions. I expect either a full or partial refund for this stay and a personal apology via email from the owners of this property. I will not be booking this house again.

I filled in an on line form as soon as I arrived.
I also rang the owner. The description on your website is incorrect. If it had been a correct description of the layout I would not have booked it. It says on the ground floor thereâs a downstairs bedroom leading to the living room which leads to the kitchen, and thereâs three bedrooms on the first floor. So I booked it because Iâm disabled and use a wheelchair so everything was on the ground floor for me. But it wasnât. The kitchen was upstairs so totally ruined Christmas for us as I only went upstairs when two people carried me which was unsafe. One of the elderly couples decided they couldnât come when I told them about the layout of the property because they originally assumed theyâd only have to go upstairs at bedtime. So the cost had to be divided between two parties instead of three, which we wouldnât have paid if weâd known about it. Your website also states fuel provided so we didnât take wood, it wasnât provided so Christmas Eve had to go looking for wood. Contacted the owner who said he would have to contact Sykes about fuel being provided. Also said to him, as itâs Christmas we thought thereâd be a Christmas tree up, his reply was I live in Chester, Iâm useless (referring to himself). There wasnât even a piece of tinsel. The downstairs wet room leaked onto the bedroom floor, and we couldnât turn the heating off so had to go round turning radiators on and off.

Hen Gapel Seion was beyond our expectations, the location was perfect and easy to get to with private parking space for two cars.
When we walked in and saw it still retained some of the features from the existing chapel and how bright and open the living area was we were blown away. The doors to the large garden area folded right back and gave you a sense of freedom as you looked at the roaming hills behind, and immediately you felt relaxed. It got even better with the games room. It had a pool table and projecter which most nights we would would project music videos from YouTube whilst enjoying a drink and a game of pool. The beaches around the area were magnificent and just around 15-20min drive in eaither direction and a secluded beach just a walk away as well, which our dog loved. We had a couple of nights were we watched the sun set and go down over the sea from the large windows in the living area, which was magnificent. It was very clean and we were pleasently surprised with the Welsh cake and Proseco waiting for us when we got there. All in all, a perfect holiday and we will be will definitely be returning

Really enjoyed our break at Stoneycroft .
The house is tastefully finished inside & to a high standard, very much home from home . Access is good from where the car is parked making it easy to carry cases in to the property. The kitchen is well equipped ( Loved the coffee machine) & the welcome pack was very welcome :) As there was only 2 of us we obviously only used the one bedroom which had a really comfortable bed ( slept well). The one bedside lamp didn't work properly but didn't cause a problem . The only other thing was the blind in the picture window in the dining area was brokren . Again this wasn't a problem as your'e not overlooked . The views from the house & garden are brilliant . If there is a problem , its got nothing to do with the house but where it is , halfway up a very steep lane, which is a real lung buster when you walk up into the town , which would present a real problem if you had any disability. Other than that thoroughly recommended.

The cottage was like a home from home (without all our clutter!
). It was really spacious, whilst being cosy at the same time. The open plan layout worked really well so we could all be doing different things e.g. cooking, reading, playing on the floor, and still able to talk to each other. My daughter loved all the toys, books and games in the cottage and we had a lot of fun as a family playing Dobble and the Gone Fishing Game :o). It took us a bit of practice to get the cooker and hobs working, but once we did it was straightforward. Upstairs the bedrooms were super comfy and we loved all the seaside theme ornaments. We loved it all and would love to come and stay again and explore more of the beautiful Llyn Peninsula.
