What our customers say about their holidays

Thank you for letting me stay at short notice.
This is a return visit. Fabulous place, great layout on ground floor so on the flat for shops etc. Kitchen is incredibly well equipped and a small welcome pack of Welsh cakes and milk left for which incredibly grateful. Some sachets of tea and coffee provided and lots of useful cleaning stuff and dish washer tablets. Wanted for nothing. Quick shop in local Tesco and I was good to go. Hob, cooker, dishwasher all simple to use. Wonderful location and fabulous walks with eating out suggestions provided in generous welcome folder (on book shelf). Very comfy beds and fairly clean (under sofa cushions were a bit grim and skirtings need a scrub/lick of paint but I hoovered round: no issue for me. A note for housekeeping; sorry I forgot to leave before I checked out. A bulb is gone in the bathroom, light switch in hall is broken and heating was not on on arrival so incredibly cold (and Iâm hot blooded!). It took 6 hours to warm living room area up (February to be fair!). Thankfully, I knew where boiler was from a previous stay. The shower was fab but, I couldnât work out how to get it hotter than lukewarm! I moved boiler to hottest water setting (temporary and only to get shower hot) but it remained resolutely cool. Didnât spoil my holiday, prob a simple fix that I canât work out, however, it woke me up in a morning! Bath panel needs replacing as mentioned in visitor book and it stands out in what is a beautifully furnished home. Iâm sure youâll be doing that in low season as you have stated in the book as part of your continual maintenance programme. Thoroughly recommend and hope to return. Very grateful for a weekâs rest on my own to recuperate the soul x

Great location, in the middle of town, but a private group of houses.
No noise heard from the town or anything. Lovely and spacious accommodation with a very well equipped kitchen with modern appliances. Beds nice and soft, loads more room in the double than it looks in the picture, long and thin, rather than short. Good room in the twin, I had space to put the travelcot up between the two beds without needing to move the beds around. Sofas are a little slippy as they are leather and personal preference is not for leather, but can understand why they are more practical in a holiday let. Owner rang us on the way to let us know there may be a small issue with the highchair once we got there, but to let them know and they would be coming to change it over in the week. It was fine, just a little stained which is to be expected with a baby's highchair! It has also been changed over for a brand new one now anyway. I text the owner letting them know of a couple of things that could do with being fixed (nothing that affected the holiday, things such as one of the spotlights in the bathroom was out, it was 1 of 6 so didn't affect our stay at all) and these were sorted ASAP. Parking is available for two cars, but could potentially get a little tight depending on the size of your vehicles. Although pet friendly, there was not a hair in sight. Generally feels a well maintained flat. Will definitely be booking again.

This is the email we have sent to you and had no response: To whom it may concern, I am still awaiting re Response from my previous email in regards to the dog supplement error.
We have now returned from our stay and are extremely dissatisfied with the misleading and inaccurate portrayal of the property; Frustrating the property photographs show the log burner but it doesn't provide any wood and is potentially not a real burner at all? This should be made clear. The bathroom is in really poor condition with major mould issues and spurting shower that is leaking . Needs attention and appears not being cleaned properly as mould flying off whenever water from shower hits it. Slippery tiled floor and no bath mat provided is dangerous. Really disappointed with quality of property. General theme of stingy provisions left- small and tired towels, not a single dishwasher tablet, not enough washing up liquid, toilet paper or hand soap for 24 hours. The parking was made impossible to access due to the bushes that hadnât been trimmed. We are still waiting on our refund for the dog that was an error as we didnât have a dog with us. We contacted you about this ahead of our visit. We would also request a partial refund on the booking overall due to the poor state and quality of the property and was not as advertised in pictures or description. I eagerly await your response. Regards, Jamie Trigg

When arriving at the property it had not been cleaned.
Dirty bedding on the floor, bins not emptied, microwave dirty. I made two calls to the owner which were not answered and left a message as per instruction on the email. When they did not reply I then ended up making three phone calls to Sykes as we were starting to panic we wouldn't have any beds to sleep in. They also couldn't reach the owners and said there had been a mix up with emails so cleaners hadn't been booked. Sykes organised for some cleaners to come who were lovely and very apologetic even though it wasn't their fault. They then had to clean the house around us while we were making a meal. This was not a very relaxing start to our holiday. We had a builder call in twice, once to check the leaking roof and then to ask when we were leaving as he needed to fix it. The house is very spacious and in a great position but isn't as well equipped in the kitchen as other holiday homes I've styed in. We didn't park in the yard as we enjoyed sitting in it but had no problem parking either outside the front or in the harbour car park. We were very happy with Sykes and grateful to them for sorting our problem out, not so much with the owners and would of appreciated an apology.

The beds are so uncomfortable that we didn't stay the 3rd night and actually went to my mum's as her guests had left.
It was cold when we arrived as only the towel rail was on so we had to turn all the radiators on as the weather was bad this weekend and wait for it to warm up. The kitchen could do with a blind more for privacy then anything else as it's right on the alleyway. The seal on the bottom of shower glass needs replacing as I realised half way through my shower water was going all over the floor and you could see this was not the first time it has happened. Internet was rubbish with a note to say it's because it's rural yet my mum doesn't have the same issues. Netflix wouldn't work on the TV, so glad it was only a base for us and we spent most of our time somewhere else. The towels are tiny and all smelt musty, it could also do with a hand towel. The book asks you to wash up before you leave but there wasn't any washing up liquid just a manky wire scrubbing thing so we left what we had used in the sink which was a couple of mugs and small plates. It's in a great location for us being a few minutes walk to our family and The Union Inn but I wouldn't rebook it or recommend to other family members.
