Dog Friendly Cottages in Padstow

Nestled in North Cornwall, on the South West Coast Path, Padstow is everything you hoped a dream dog friendly holiday destination would be, disguised as a rural fishing village. Still need convincing? Padstow came out as the most dog-friendly holiday destination in the UK in our recent study, which helps you find the best place for your pooch depending on their breed. And we've got the best selection of dog friendly accommodation for you to choose from when there.

Every part of Cornwall is best at something. But one thing’s for sure, Padstow is top of the board for dog-friendly restaurants and beautiful dog-friendly beaches. After all, no trip to Cornwall would be complete without visiting at least one beautiful pet-friendly beach! Anyone who’s taken their four-legged friend down to the coast will know just how excited dogs get at the sight of the sea and a sandy beach. Luckily, Padstow is home to plenty of glorious beaches that your pooch is welcome to enjoy year-round, just steps from your dog friendly cottage.

Fancy waking to the salty smell of sea air, why not book dog friendly accommodation situated right on Padstow harbour? If you’re after an extra slice of luxury or romantic break, how about a private hot tub in a large enclosed garden? Or are you after something a little more rustic? Pick one of our dog friendly lodges in Padstow for a more rural location complete with wood burning stove. Padstow is home to some of the best dog-friendly cottages on the planet, so why should you settle for anything less than perfection?.

What our customers say about their holidays

Very well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable house.

The garden is small but well fenced - however the fence is quite low and anyone with a sight hound would need to be watchful when letting them out. The back of the house is close to the main road into Padstow but I didn’t find it at all noisy. I do think that a little more attention needs to be paid to maintenance of the property. The front door key is very temperamental and difficult to lock/unlock. There was one lightbulb in the main lounge light not working on arrival and a second blew whilst I was there, with no spares. On the third day the previously working electric fire suddenly stopped working and on another night the fuse box tripped. My main problem with the house was the drive and parking. The advert states that you approach via a double width drive which you do. Unfortunately it doesn’t say that this then narrows to an awkwardly angled very narrow drive with unforgiving stone walls on one side. If you have a large or a long estate car as I have it is difficult to reverse up or, if you drive in forwards turning your car around in the available space is also very awkward. That said I felt comfortable, warm and safe and would definitely stay again.

We are a family of 6 that spent almost a month in Aloe House between early December and early January. The house is truly lovely, extremely well maintained and perfectly situated on the water front in Rock. Our children range from age 15 to 9 and, as the house is spread across 3 floors, there is plenty of room. It never felt crowded. Both Ros and the owner were extremely attentive and professional. There were a few very minor reasons to contact them throughout our stay and they responded extremely quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. As our stay was over Christmas, we were asked beforehand if we wanted a tree and arrived to a nice tree and other Christmas decorations. We also arrived to a very nice welcome hamper; all of which was a lovely touch. Given our usual hectic lives, we found the comparative remoteness and traditional way of life in Rock and Padstow very relaxing. If you’re looking for high quality accommodation in a tremendous but slightly quiet location (out of season), I have no hesitation in recommending Aloe House. So much so we are already planning our return visit, which the entire family has asked for!

Excellent location, close to bus stop (regular busses) and Tesco store.

Nice sized property. Most suited to 2 adults & 2 children rather than 4 adults. The carpets and 3 piece suite are clean, however, they look dirty because they are very dated! Suite is comfortable to sit in. The microwave should be replaced. It has a crack inside and is rusty around the door. Although the double bed is a standard size, it would not suit larger people. It is very comfortable to sleep on however. I recommend upgrading to a king size especially as there is plenty of room to take it. The kitchen is well equipped with all the pots, pans, crockery, utensils etc that one could need. A dishwasher would be a bonus but is not essential. There is a noticeable damp musty smell in the property which does not completely go away when windows are opened. This is an issue when it is cold outside. This property has tremendous potential, however, it does need updating. I appreciate that this is reflected in the rental fee but I would be prepared to pay more if it were to be done.

We have stayed in several cottages on this creek so we had a good idea of what to expect but this property was the most comfortable of all of them.

Yes - the accommodation is snug for 4 people and the spiral stairs may be an issue for some but the description of the property accurately warns of this. Everything we needed was provided and we really love the (slightly remote) location. The creek has a character if its' own and the wild life is wonderful. It's only a 2 mile (off road) walk to Padstow but be aware of the tide, the boardwalk may be slightly submerged in the case of a very high tide. We love walking and the nearby headlands are fabulous for circular walks, the scenery unbeatable. Go equipped, even though Tesco is only a few minutes drive away and it is very well stocked, it gets very busy during school holiday time. We shall most certainly return and make a point of enjoying more meals at the Old Mill Bistro and The Pickwick. We tend to avoid Stein's empire but the goujons at his cafe make a stop worth a visit!

We have stayed in another of these cottages twice before.

This is by far the nicest one. The cottage was clean and welcoming with complementary tea/ coffee and biscuits. It was ideal for us as my friend is not able to use stairs and had her own bedroom and bathroom downstairs. Mine upstairs was absolutely gorgeous, so light and airy, with really lovely furnishings. It was lovely to have a little conservatory to sit in as the weather was not at its best. We toured around and ate at the Ring o bells in St Issey most evenings. I walked along the creek path into Padstow and back a few times as I have in the past and it was absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone ,and I will be back. Thank you so much to Pauline for looking after the cottage and to Sykes for the excellent communication in cancelling last years and rebooking for this year because of you know what. Linda and Karen
