For our large group, it was a haven—a place where laughter echoed through spacious rooms, and memories were built with every passing hour. From the moment we stepped through the grand entrance, the house enveloped us in a warmth that was both inviting and opulent. The intricate details of the tower, coupled with the modern luxury comforts inside, created the pertect ambience suiting our group. Each room offered its own sanctuary, while the shared spaces invited togetherness—a perfect balance for friends and family alike where we enjoyed lingering chats. movies and laughter. The coastal views, visible from nearly every window, were a constant reminder of the famous English Riviera surrounding us, and we felt lucky to experience it all as a group. The large dining areas hosted long meals filled with conversation, gorgeous food prepared on the Aga and the spacious living rooms embraced moments of shared fun. Vane Tower gave us more than just a place to stay—it gave us an experience, one that will be etched in our hearts forever.   The cottage was lovely & well presented when we arrived.

  Great location if not a little hilly but close to the harbour which was excellent. Nice little touches for our dog. A few board games we made use of on our first night as it was very wet out. However, description of cottage doesn’t mention shared outdoor space. This is access for an apartment. Could do with knowing this before booking. Outdoor space hasn’t been used by anyone for a long time! Was quite hot when we were there would have been nice to sit out but covered by trees and cobwebs. No blinds at that rear door so people passing through can see in! Make sure you’re dressed! Only one pan to cook up a ‘culinary delight’ as advertised. Not many utensils but we weren’t that bothered as we ate out every night. The sofa could do with being replaced. Very flat and old and very uncomfortable. No mention of the parking being at the bottom of a dark driveway. Only one security light stayed on for seconds. Not enough to get up the hill to the house. The photo in the advert shows parking bays at the front door. These seem to be for the owners only. Misleading. We had an issue with neighbours one night which was very scary, shouting in the street then in the premises. Torquay itself, we had a great week away.

  If Vane Hall had a middle name, it would be “Luxury.” Tucked in the heart of Torquay, this delightful retreat swept us off our feet from the moment we arrived. Sleeping six with ease, it became the perfect stage for our coastal adventure—a home where every detail whispered comfort and every corner invited us to relax. Days were spent exploring the local gems, but the real magic unfolded as the sun dipped low. The kitchen became the heart of our evenings, buzzing with laughter and clinking glasses as we whipped up sumptuous suppers. The dining table hosted long, lingering meals that flowed into conversations when we retired to the lounge on the enveloping sofas—moments that felt as effortless as they were memorable. Each bedroom was a haven in itself, with plush linens and soft lighting that made bedtime something to look forward to. But let’s not forget the garden terrace—a perfect morning coffee spot with views that stole the show every single day. Vane Hall is more than just a holiday home; it’s a place where six souls can come together, unwind, and create stories worth sharing. We arrived as travellers, but we left as a team bound by the joy of a truly boutique escape.

  All I can say is that someone needs to take up to date photos of Rutland cottage so that guests know exactly what is there. When I booked this property for 5 adults and 3 children I did so by looking at the photos provided. This was not the case concerning the hot tub as it actually turned out to be half the size that was suggested and furthermore the children could not use the downstairs games room as the handrail was broken and the floor was sodden with electric cables on the floor. Richard tried to mop the water up and empty the dehumidifier but even that wasn’t sufficient as the floor was completely wet through all week. Not what we paid for !!!!!!!! We all took photographs on our mobiles as proof if it is necessary. Needless to say this was a very expensive holiday in the first place but trying to keep children happy when they were promised a games room and were not able to proved extra costly for us. I really hope we get compensated for the distress this has caused. Richard himself was nice enough but booking with the pictures provided is not at all what we got !!!!!!!!!!!!!We are very unhappy and feel conned !!!!!
