What our customers say about their holidays

Beautiful cottage, everything we needed and dog friendly. The house is decorated to a high standard, Spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, kitchen had everything you could need and a small enclosure garden for dog to use. A nice welcome pack that was well appreciated, thank you Just a short walk to the beach, the beach has a lovely cafe and we enjoyed breakfast rolls while watching the sea, between 1st of May to September the beach area in front of the cafe has a no dog policy, but if you walk along the sea wall to the other end dogs are allowed all year round. The road the cottage is in, you can do a nice circular walk. Walk to the top of the road, there is a woodland walk, if you follow the paths to the other side of the wood, There is a large field for them to enjoy off lead, then down to the dog friendly beach area then along the sea wall back to the cottage . You can also cross the road from the cottage follow the signs to daddyhole, there is a nice grassy area for dogs then you can walk the coastal path into Torquay, there it are a few steps going down along the path, and i would keep dogs on lead, but its worth it for the views the path comes out near the harbour cafes. So plenty of choices for a cuppa or stronger beverage. We then walked along the harbour through the town and walked back to the cottage along meadfoot road . We also visited the model Village, a few national trust House and Gardens, dogs welcome in the garden, they enjoy the dog biscuits treats given then by staff. I can highly recommend Cockington a beautiful country park, with walks around the lakes and a lovely garden in the pub to enjoy a meal or drink I would highly recommend Beach Mews cottage, so much to do in the area ,Hubby never had to drive longer than 30mins to get to place's, we hope to visit again soon

There were a few faults with the property the first being the sofa it was so uncomfortable to sit on and its definitely due an upgrade.
When hanging a towel on a hand rail in the main bedroomâs bathroom one side of the towel rail fell off as it wasn't attached. The bathroom itself need an extractor fan as there seems to be a build up of condensation, slight damp which shows the cracks that are appearing on the ceiling. The fan lights in both bedrooms need to be replaced or maybe firmly attached to the ceiling as they move and spin erratically which didn't seem safe to leave on. We also had to reattach the fan pull chain as it came off when turning the fan off. The main dinning table was very unstable so we had to wedge some cardboard under the leg so it was sturdy to eat on. I think the main thing for us personally was not being able to close the curtains it was far to bright in the rooms however the blinds served a good purpose for privacy but come early morning when the light broke through we were woken earlier than expected. However there was positives to property to it was very clean baring the smell of dog odour in the lounge area (which us to be expected being a dog friendly accommodation) we had access to all of the amenities to cook, clean and wash our clothes if need be with a wide selection of kitchen utensils. The beds were comfortable, The property itself was spacious well decorated and it did feel homely. On a bonus the property its situated in the perfect location to Torquay town centre which is within walking distance and if you find those stairs which leads down to the middle of town centre it will shorten your journey considerably. Overall the holiday experience was a pleasant one and minor the the few things I stated above. i would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to be located in the perfect spot to have the peace and quiet during the night or day with many destinations that are only a short car/train journey away.

We really enjoyed our stay and it was perfect location for what we needed and already have recommended others. A few points to mention, I am sure it was in the information that there was a PlayStation 2 somewhere. It didn’t matter to us as my son could do with the break but some may be expecting it. We used the extractor fan in kitchen and this really could do with a deep clean as it made the whole house smell fatty. The TV remote was very intermittent even after changing batteries. These are not major comments and we were out most of the time so really didn’t matter. Thank you.

Property owners friendly, helpful and responsive (problem with toilet) Not an ideal property for accessability with wheelchair, mobility aid but other than this no issues at all.
Very light and spacious, extremely well equipped kitchen. Drive steep. And not ideal to. Park large vehicle (we have a van) but 3 spaces for the property lower down the drive Location is up a very steep hill so account for this if walking from town. (nature of the town though) I mention accessability as i use a mobility scooter and hill was too steep for it. Lovely place but not ideal for ua due to mobility issues unfortunately

Had a lovely stay at Beach Mews, lovely quiet location. Great communication from The local Office and owner/manager of house. Meadfoot beach and the cafe is lovely which is on the doorstep and not far into town just a bit hilly or there is a coastal walk from daddyhole plain which has great views over the bay. Can’t wait to visit again, one of my favourite places.
