  We stayed at Mountain Farm Cottage from July 13th to 20th, and it was another fantastic holiday experience.

  This was our second visit to this delightful spot, and it certainly won’t be our last! Location: Nestled in the heart of Pembrokeshire, Mountain Farm Cottage boasts a prime location. It offers the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience, making it an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The scenic surroundings provide a peaceful atmosphere, yet it's close enough to local attractions and amenities. Cottage: The cottage itself is a charming blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. It is well-maintained and exceptionally clean, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The interior is cozy and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Each room is thoughtfully decorated, and the attention to detail is evident throughout. Garden: One of the highlights of Mountain Farm Cottage is its large, beautiful garden. Our children had a fantastic time exploring and playing in the expansive outdoor space, and our two dogs enjoyed the freedom to roam. The garden is well-kept, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for both kids and pets. Family and Pet-Friendly: Traveling with three children and two dogs can be challenging, but Mountain Farm Cottage made it effortless. The cottage is incredibly family and pet-friendly, with plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The thoughtful amenities and accommodations for pets were particularly appreciated. Overall Experience: Our second stay at Mountain Farm Cottage was just as wonderful as the first. The location, the cottage, and the garden all exceeded our expectations once again. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable family getaway. We are already looking forward to our next visit!   The property is lovely and really nice.

  Before arriving we had a damage and cleaning information pack with a hot tub disclaimer. The information pack was a little worrying as the cost of cleaning charges for pet hair and I had 2 with me. When we got to the property it was simple instruction from the email to access the property but no greeting on arrival. When we were putting food away in the freezer there was a smashed bottle which had not been cleaned up, there were a pack of Pringles on the cabinet that were out of date from July and also a plastic bottle left under the one sofa, this I was disappointed with due to the emails received about the cleaning charges. The hot tub we read through and said it’s cleaned every time someone leave and will be switched on and heated up ready. On the first night we never bothered with the hot tub due to the rain and darkness. We then went to look around 10:00 on the second day and the hot tub was cold and nothing would work it was saying pool too warm. I kept checking this by the hour and the water was cold with no change. I went to reception which was not open, I range the contact number provided on email and booklet in the love and no answer I also emailed the admin team and again no answer. I was unable to use the hot tub all weekend and this I am unhappy about as you pay extra to have a hot tub and we were unable to use. On the day of leaving the request to strip the beds and bag the sheets and towels ready for cleaners to collect was done before leaving. The hot tub had started to heat up but this was the day we were leaving. I feel we could have had more assistance to get this hot tub working and the general cleanliness wasn’t to the standard of what it seems before you attend due to the items we found, but the email makes you slightly worry before attending and taking your dogs as chargers and explained for different cleaning.

  Friendly staff who did try to be of assistance.

  However the “Company” promotional description of the “Lodge” in particular the location is misleading and not as we expected. There were a number of cosmetic issues with the Lodge, also a window difficult to open and patio door difficult to close and in particular to lock. This was mentioned to reception who confirmed there had been a problem with locking but had supposedly been rectified. The main TV was not working on day of arrival necessitating maintenance call out. Was eventually fixed but only after 3 days. Bedroom TV positioned in front of dressing table mirror, not above as shown in promotional photos. Furniture, only small settee and one chair, not fully furnished as shown in photos of Lodge. Welcome pack didn’t have tea coffee sugar washing up liquid as was described. Did receive washing up liquid on request. Location states Lodge perched at costal village of Little Haven. Not so, Little Haven 1.8 miles drive away. To walk to Little Haven at least 45 minutes which is not recommended as walking along single track lanes with potential hazardous traffic conditions. Promotional description of property includes local bakery, farm shop and club on adjacent site serving meals. There is no actual bakery or farm shop on site. Remote contact possible by phone to order subject to availability Club only serves meals on weekend evenings. Not open during day. Having due regard to the promotional information and description, overall we were disappointed with the accommodation and in particular location which does not give us any incentive to want to return Rodney & Audrey Hall

  Lovely, large and warm property.

  The utility room, bedrooms and sitting room were super. The huge well-enclosed garden was fabulous for our dogs to run freely, although the 'neighbours' dogs came wandering across the front leaving mess on the lawns. We had a fabulous holiday, but feel that the following recommendations may help the owners make improvements to make it a top quality, 5 star holiday let. The Kitchen facilities were quite good (although would suggest - replacing the 3 broken tin openers with a working one, exchanging the toaster for a 4 slice one). Hob extractor needs attention. The en suite shower had a fair amount of black mould in the grouting and the heated towel rail was leaking. The huge, beautiful bath was spoiled by having a number of hairs from the last users in it - not too clean. The upstairs floorboards and stairs creaked very loudly and the bannister rail felt very loose. This did cause issues waking our sleeping family members. The gymnasium was disappointing - the running machine was only good for a gentle walk and the foot straps on the bike were broken, rendering it almost unusable. The games in the garage were incomplete / with some damaged parts (eg broken table tennis bats and dented balls). We didn't use the hot tub - so cannot comment. All in all, we would love to return, but just hope that these suggestions might make it a top quality destination for others.

  Sykes misled us as it clearly states on the listing that it is in Broadhaven when it's actually miles from Broadhaven.

  We made the booking on that basis so we were immediately disappointed with the location as we'd visited the area 3 yeaes ago and wanted to return there and not stay at Hasguard Cross. The shop didn't actually stock anything so it is pointless to promote a shop nearby as the nearest shop is miles away in Broadhaven. The house itself was nice, needed a little TLC in places but it was spotlessly clean apart from flies under the beds in the ground floor bedroom. It is classed as sleeping 8 which it does comfortably but there is not room for 8 to watch TV on the sofas. We were cold in the house and had no way of drying clothes or towels. I think there should have been information there in regards to the heating as we didn't get a response from emails sent requesting help with this from the owner or Sykes but apparently, as we found out on the last day, the boiler was in the garage next door and had to be turned on there. We were asked to complete a disclaimer for the hot tub which we did and it said the hot tub would be checked for the correct chemical balance numerous times during our stay but this was not checked for the whole week we were there. I think the property would benefit from a washing line and also ice cube trays. The little bar in the caravan park next door is lovely and serves delicious food a few nights each week, has a pool table too.
