"This cottage is an excellent base for a 3 generation family holiday plus dog. It is furnished and equipped to a very high standard, with big comfortable beds. It was so warm we didn't need to light the fire! Thank you to Rosie for the lovely flowers and the welcome pack it was much appreciated. The information on local walks and places to visit was really helpful."
    NICHOLAS – 8 Jan 2018

"Really great place and 100% will be booking again the house is really spacious and we had a group of 10 and 2 dogs and everyone had enough space to be all together or off in couples Great fantastic amazing wish i had booked for longer"

"Had a fantastic time celebrating my wife's birthday with all our family (10) and 2 dogs very comfortable and highly equipped great pub restaurant on the door step fully recommended"
    Jacqueline
"The cottage is beautiful and the location is excellent, with a lovely pub just around the corner, great food there and the staff are lovely. The cottage is very well decorated and immaculate throughout. The one drawback was the amount of seating in the lounge, if there are 10 adults staying it's a bit of a squeeze to all sit comfortably. We brought a couple of chairs down from the bedrooms. Rosie was very helpful and I would certainly highly recommend Richmond cottage. Thank you."

"Wonderful 1week holiday. The cottage was first class no expense spared. Every thing we needed we found. The cottage was clean and very well maintained. Well done Rosie!! Our Richmond house , housekeeper. The cottage is nicely placed and is central for so many good places to visit, walks and stunning views within a short drive."

"My family and I recently stayed at Richmond House, Felixkirk for a family celebration which was being held nearby. The cottage is beautiful with a lovely country garden at the front. It was well equipped and furnished to a high standard and is located in the lovely, pretty village of Felixkirk which is very picturesque. We visited the nearby town of Helmsley which has lots of lovely shops and cafes. We stayed for a long weekend and would have loved to have stayed longer. Thank you to the housekeeper - nothing was too much trouble and we really appreciate your efforts to ensuring our stay was such an enjoyable one. I would recommend Richmond House to family and friends looking for somewhere to stay in the area."

"8 adults, 3 children, 1 baby and 2 dogs stayed here for my 40th birthday and we had a fabulous time. The facilities were great and the location fantastic for all of us. We went to Whitby on the steam train from Pickering, walked to the White Horse and spent time in Thirsk, Ripon and Helmsley. The house is very beautifully decorated and furnished and we had a lovely week."
    Rachel
"Beautiful house in an idyllic location within easy reach of many villages and attractions.Plenty of room inside and perfect for four legged friends - we had a ball and will be back - thank you ❤️"
    Lesley
"Having self catered for the last 30 years, Richmond house has to be one of the nicest houses we have stayed in. All home comforts are there, with an idyllic setting and the house was styled by an interior designer. Rosie the Housekeeper, goes out of her way to help in anyway she can. The local restaurant/pub, the Carpenters Arms is excellent and literally a stones throw away! We would highly recommend Richmond House, a beautiful property in a stunning location."
    Dan
"This is an immaculate house in a beautiful village with a fun local pub. We had all we needed. Our only small issue was that the heating was on all the time so we did get a bit warm. But other than that it was absolutely fantastic!"
    Angie
"Lovely house and ample space I imagine if fully occupied. Bedrooms were comfy and bedding was excellent. Bathrooms fine, although the en-suite is up a steep flight of stairs so may not suit those with poor knees!Although we are dog people and indeed took our dogs with us, the lounge carpet would probably benefit from a shampoo, it did smell a bit doggy in there.Good pub a few yards away from house and reasonable distance to the North York Moors and such like. Overall we were enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider booking this property again."
    Harriet
"We spent some time picking a cottage for a reunion of old friends spread throughout the uk. This cottage met our needs and we certainly weren't disappointed. Very good standard and extremely tasteful."
    Carolyne
"Fabulous cottage, our second visit and there will definitely be a third"

"Everything was exceptional the only criticism was the comfort of the sitting room furniture, everything else was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay,"

"Beautifully decorated 'cottage'. The ensuing annexe bedrooms were such a bonus and suited our group perfectly. We would also highly recommend the Carpenter's Arms across the road for drinks and food."
    Sarah
"Just spent the weekend at Richmond House with 9 people for my husbands 40th - we had the most amazing break, the house is stunning - the photos really don't do it justice! Beautifully clean and everything you could need is there! I have house envy! Lots to do locally, and a little further afield if you want to go to the coast, the Carpenters Arms is just across the road and does amazing food so it's ideal when not eating at the cottage. I would definitely recommend Richmond House and we will be visiting again soon!"
    Karen
"Beautiful cottage, stylish decor. Well equipped with all the essentials for a very comfortable stay. Lovely pub right on the door step."
    James
"We had a very comfortable stay. Every bedroom was a well appointed and no one was left with the feeling they drew the short straw. The living accommodation is spacious enough and every effort has been made to make our stay enjoyable."
    Kenneth
"This is a super "cottage"/large house which is beautifully presented. There is very little to criticise and when I reported a problem with the shower in the main bathroom a plumber fixed it the same day - wish mine was so quick!!! The "housekeeper" was really helpful and came straight down to the property within half an hour. The are difficulties, the entrance to the parking area is extremely narrow with high long walls to negotiate and if you have a big car you need someone to see you in with a couple of inches either side. Could be difficult in the dark.A regular car is no problem. Parking for four cars just OK but five a bit difficult. The master bedroom suite is excellent but the bathroom is on the floor above up some extremely steep stairs with a very low door to bang the head. If you were a little unsteady then at night it might be a problem especially if you had had a few "scoops" in the evening in the very comfortable sitting room!! It has five double bedrooms and the house fits 10 people very well and is not cramped. Two of the bedrooms are in an annex in the yard which might be iffy in bad weather. All ten of us thought the bedrooms and bedding were excellent and had a great time. Weather helped. The village and pub are really rather nice and it is close to Thirsk. Last niggle is that some of the doors, kitchen and front door to outside particularly, are very difficult to lock/unlock. They clearly are new locks and the owners are aware and sorting it. We loved it but it was quite expensive for our week even for early August but it is a pretty super place."

"We all absolutely loved our stay, the house is beautiful. The rooms are all spacious, the furnishings are gorgeous and the garden glorious. We cannot wait to come back at the end of the month! Thank you Rosie for all your help and efforts."
    Colin
"This is a fabulous property - clean, comfortable and in a beautiful yet quiet part of the world. I wouldn't hesitate to book it again."
    Charlotte
"What a delight it was to stay in such a beautiful home. Not one room was better than the other. Absolutely everything has been though of and every little detail really makes a difference. We had our online grocery order delivered here which was fantastic. The Carpenters Arms over the road was delicious and good value if dining before 7. I only wish we could have stayed longer."
    Karen
"It was perfect except I would suggest putting tea / coffee facilities in the annexe to save people coming over to the house in the bad weather. Also the master bedroom, the wardrobe should be in the dressing room instead to make it easier to dress up there. The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. I would definitely stay there again and advise friends and family to stay there."
    Emma
    "Wonderful cottage lovely location"
    Melissa

"Great place, beautiful house, done to the highest spec. Wonderful"
    Alex
"Wow what a place! Over the years we have stayed in lots of cottages but Richmond House has got to be one of the best. The village of Felixkirk is everything you want from a picturesque little village on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales. A pint or a glass of wine in the Carpenters arms is a must. The cottage itself is out of this world! Everything has been designed & made to the highest spec. It really is 5 star luxury and no expense has been spared to making Richmond house into a perfect country retreat. I've read the previous reviews regarding lack of utensils etc. The owners have clearly taken the comments on board as now there is everything you need. We had the perfect stay here with 8 couples in total. The cottage is so spacious, clean & beautifully furnished. We didn't want to leave!"
    Alyson
"We spent a lovely weekend with family, 3 generations of us. The house is beautiful, well equipped and decorated to the highest standard. A high chair would have been useful."
    Dianne
"Lovely house. Underfloor heating was stuck on high which made it unbearably hot in the main house, but understand that this is a teething problem with a new property. A book was left for us to note any suggestions which we did as some of equipment wasn't enough for size of party even though we were a group of 8 and place says accommodates 10 and if you are going to charge high prices you need to be able to meet the needs. But all in all a beautiful, comfortable cottage which we all enjoyed staying in."
    Kevin
"Fantastic break, but need cooking utensils, such as cooking trays, casserole dishes but make sure they fit in the oven. Beer fridge in the utility room.. thanks,"
