Dormy Cottage is a charming 18-century cottage carefully restored, beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished to create a splendid holiday retreat. Its comfortable lounge, hand crafted kitchen, attractive bedrooms and lovely bathroom make her a super cottage to return to after a hard day's holidaying in the Peak District.

The perfection of the cottage is only matched by its location in the sleepy little village of Foolow snuggled up under the dramatic Hucklow Edge. This is a near perfect village gathered around the duck pond with its six white ducks, with the traditional Bulls Head pub renowned for its hearty meals and surrounded by lovely countryside that stretches as far as the eye can see.

There are few more peaceful spots yet there is also a vast array of visitor attractions within easy reach. Castleton's caverns, Chapel's wildlife sanctuary, the Derwent Valley Dams and wild Winnots Pass are all nearby. You might also fancy riding Peak Rail's steam trains or a tram at the National Tramway Museum between visits to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell' famous market and Buxton' Victorian Crescent. Save an evening to visit the Barrel Inn at Bretton, high up on the Edge, and watch the sun set over the cottage.

Cottage facilities:

A splendid lounge with comfortable furniture, cast iron electric stove, flat screen T.V., DVD  and Wi Fi. A quality fitted dining kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and automatic washer/dryer. An attractive double bedroom. A lovely single bedroom. A new, beautifully tiled downstairs bathroom with bath, hand held shower, W.C. and under floor heating.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating and power are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is a small rear stone flagged courtyard with furniture. Easy parking is available on the quiet lane right outside. A pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas & New Year.
