Your dog will love a cottage holiday in Bakewell
You’re sure to have a fabulous time when you take a trip to Bakewell with your furry friend. There are heaps of places to visit, plenty of dog-friendly cottages to stay in, and beautiful things to see while you’re there. You’ll be hard pushed to get bored!
Famously known for their tasty Bakewell Tarts, pop into one of their bakeries and indulge yourself with a tasty treat (don’t be tempted to give your pup any, though, as almonds can upset a dog’s stomach). Resting along the banks of the scenic river Wye, you can enjoy the sight of gorgeous stone bridges dating back to the Medieval era, charming courtyards, and quaint listed buildings- it’s the perfect place for amateur photographers to get a few snaps.
Dog-friendly things to do
Thornbridge Hall Gardens
THere you and your pup can enjoy exploring 12 acres worth of beautiful gardens. Then once you’re done strolling together, stop off for a spot of light lunch and a cup of tea in their café.
Nine Ladies Stone Circle
Dogs are welcome here as long as owners keep them on leads. This stone formation displays a small but complete stone circle dating back to the Bronze Age. It’s a site of both historical and natural beauty that’s well worth a visit.
