What our customers say about their holidays
Nick - Verified booking
The house has clearly had a good level of investment in recent times and is well decorated, very clean and tidy with new boiler, white goods, TV.
We had a good stay (apart from parking nonsense belowâ¦) with easy walking access to the harbour and beach. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was large with a good size bath and plenty of water, although itâs not possible to have a âstand upâ shower as the ceiling height prevents this. The downstairs toilet should have an extractor fan fitted and there is some further âmaking goodâ required to the house brickwork maintenance. (Painting) Nevertheless we were pleased with the house. PARKING IS A MINEFIELD AND SPOILED OUR STAY! Access is tight for cars. On street parking is not impossible. We were expecting to empty the car in front of the house and then find parking. Unloading is tricky as there is no pavement and space for one car on the single lane narrow road â so if a car comes you need to drive around the block or reverse into a very tight space indeed. A kind adjacent neighbour told us that the gravel strip to the south east of the property was permissible for parking to all. We parked there and on return were both blocked in and greeted with an unpleasant note. The note claimed we took three slotsâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦. Not true The note said itâs residents onlyâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦..Not correct The note made reference to preventing emergency accessâ¦â¦ we made no difference to emergency access in any way - a ridiculous comment. The Note made derogatory comments. Thereâs clearly a level of territorial self-entitlement nonsense about rights to parking and access for residents only on this wasteland. A âMrs Cooperâ from Franchise Street left the poorly considered and untrue vitriolic note. We were unable to locate or discuss this with her. The parking problems prevented us from being able to check out on time. (about 30 mins.) The cleaner arrived, stood in the street and would not communicate with us as at all and pretended to be on the phone to avoid communicating in any way. We would have gladly allowed her in the house but the lady wouldnât even raise her head. I did ask her if she knew Mrs Cooper and she said no and then looked at her phone again. A bad end to a pleasant stay. Tips: Pre Plan parking off site and expect to pay up to £24 per day and be careful of hefty fines

Negatives: Bathroom door lock not working - reading reviews this was reported over 2 years ago!
! Please fix it. Cafe opens everyday at 8am so no lay ins! Needs a deep clean, i swept floor and bought wipes to clean them. Lots of cobwebs esp in main bedroom. Alot of cutlery/crockery etc was not clean. I think alot of the cleaning is left to the guests who are checking out and minimal cleaning done after by the rental company. Shower is difficult to get in/out of due to fixed curved glass shower screen and position of toilet. Access to garden is through 3 doors - through garage and utility room on the ground floor away from living area, which is worth bearing in mind if you are bringing dogs. Washing machine was filthy and i had to clean it before we could use it. Mattresses not good and really need replacing esp 1 of the single beds in twin room. Bedside lamp cant be used as no plug near by in twin room. No cutlery basket in dishwasher and plates are too tall so they have to be stacked at an angle otherwise it wont wash properly. Sofa v un-comfy as were the dining chairs. Anti-social behaviour in park opposite with large group of youths playing loud music, singing, shouting, swearing. This went on for hours and i did actually report to police. The road is v busy and noisy and so disturbed sleep every night even with windows shut which is not ideal in August! Attached to neighbours both sides and sound proofing is non existent. Positives: Views are stunning and were a huge reason we booked this place. Off street parking for 2 cars (1 car in garage) also meant storage for kayak. Allowed pets and had a half decent garden. Proximity to a stunning little beach. Pretty gardens over the rd and cafe for ice creams/coffee/snacks! Rodwell trail almost on doorstep. Could be amazing if a few changes were made!!

Great views over Sandsfoot to the sea.
Comfortable sofas and beds. Limited space for 4 adults, better for couples and family with smaller children. Steep stairs to access lounge, kitchen and second set to bathroom and beds. Top to bottom: main bed creaky, second bedroom requiring shuffle past beds, dresser needs repair as draw fronts coming off; bathroom very narrow access to shower and small bath, I couldn't use either. Very loud sink! Creaky stairs which were obviously the same next door as we heard next door often. Nice mirror in bathroom. Thin walls? Heard next door frequently and could hear people and traffic outside even with windows closed. Winerack unstable. Only 2 x 2 seat sofas in lounge, no arm chairs. Dining table squashed into lounge begins one of the sofas. 4 dining chairs with expandable round table. TV freesat works ok. Bt box pretty useless as most of channels not available. Kitchen probably one of the best equipped ever. Oven overhead extractor might need attention. Great balcony overlooking gardens and sea; plastic chairs could do with cushions though. Sun trap in mornings. Narrow car port entrances.. Golf only just fitted leaving littld roomto access vehicle. Better to leave car across the two spaces leaving the path clear. Very busy road for a cul-de-sac. Lots of cars/vans and foot traffic. Popular cafe to edge of gardens with outdoor seating only being dragged out every day (yes, we could hear them). Goodish place to stay. Was it worth the money? Debatable!

The location and views are great.
Reasonable walk/quick drive into Weymouth (plenty of parking there but make sure you download the Just Park app or carry lots of change). The attractive park opposite is larger than it appears in the photos. Path to a sandy beach (new steps) only a few minutes' walk. Well-equipped kitchen. Possibly the most comfortable beds I have ever had in a holiday property. Excellent shower pressure. On the downside, as some others have noted, the property does need a bit of updating. The surfaces of the kitchen cupboard doors were badly cracked; the microwave had scratches inside that made me hesitate to use it; minutes after we arrived, the plumber arrived to prop up the wall-hung toilet which was coming away from the wall, damaging the tiles; the leather sofas were cracked (but comfortable). Various lightbulbs needed to be replaced, the pull cord for the bathroom light was broken. The single bedroom was cosy but tiny. The twin room had a lamp but no socket near the beds. Access to the second toilet is via the entrance hall, through the integral garage and then through the utility room - not very practical when you have small children. The driveway is very short and so you have to park partly under the balcony, in the entranceway to the garage, which is extremely narrow. Something to bear in mind if you have a wide car. Despite these issues, we would still recommend this property based on comfort, views and location.

This was a fabulous cottage - spotless and finished to an excellent standard, in a superb location with lots of amenities, pubs and restaurants within a short walking distance.
The only issues were the lack of parking and limited storage space at the property. Although the parking was mentioned in the listing, itâs not until you get there that you realise that everyone else is trying to park in the same limited spaces in the neighbouring side roads and you may end up quite a distance away. This wasnât too much of a problem for us as we didnât use the car all week, so once we found a space we were sorted! The property could have done with a few things for storage, such as a wardrobe in the second bedroom and a shelf in the bathroom. A chair in the main bedroom would also be useful to drape clothes for those of us who are a bit lazy! The only other thing would be the addition of a few basics in the kitchen such as kitchen roll, foil, a hand towel and a full soap dispenser, all of which you can do without, but just make things a little easier⦠However, the overall experience was fantastic - a delightful, recently refurbished, clean property in a peaceful location with easy access to the town amenities. We even had fantastic weather!! What more could anyone ask for?
