  We spent a weekend at "The Stang Hideaway" in August, for a relaxing 3-night stay with my partner and our little dog.

  The views were gorgeous, and the location was as peaceful as a library on a snowy day. But there were a few surprises that gave us a good laugh! First off, the wine cooler was ice-cold—unlike the fridge, which was warm enough to double as a sauna . If you’re planning to brew some coffee, don't forget to bring your own coffee pods; the same goes for dishwasher tablets as there was non available and the free washing up liquid was limited to a very small bottle (use sparingly). The "fully equipped" kitchen was a bit like a game of culinary hide-and-seek, with basic items playing hard to get. And if you’re using the breakfast bar or that “sumptuous” sofa, be prepared to get very close to your partner—like, "hope-you-really-love-each-other" close, perfect if your on a romantic break! Now, let’s talk Wi-Fi. Remember the days of dial-up internet? If you’re feeling nostalgic, you’re in luck—this Wi-Fi will take you right back to the 90s with its charmingly slow speeds which can cause the TV to frequently show the circle of death when it tries to catch up, perhaps it was intentional to create a romantic atmosphere. The outside decking is lovely, but it could use a gate to be truly dog-friendly. And don't be surprised if you step outside to find a crowd in the treehouse—it’s open to everyone on the park, so you might end up with an audience for your morning coffee or romantic sunset. All in all, it was clean and the tranquility was delightful, the stay didn’t quite match up to the price given there’s a lot of competition in the area. Here’s hoping for some improvements in the future, but hey, we still enjoyed the peace and quiet and lovely views!

  We have had an amazing holiday at The Arches it really will be top of our list of Happy places to visit again very soon.

  The Arches is so spacious but cosy at the same time. We are a family of 6 adults and a 21 month old toddler also we have 3 border terriers but we all had our own space to chill and unwind. The decor and soft furnishings are amazing and of the highest quality. The kitchen is so well equipped with the bonus of a washing machine, dish washer and large fridge with a large freezer. All of our beds were so comfy and it was lovely to be awakened by the cockerels morning singing. The farmers and their family included us as they went about their daily work, we and loved seeing all the farm animals especially the puppies and the piglets not forgetting the sheep chickens cockerels sheepdogs and cats. The Arches is absolutely spectacular and we can’t fault it at all we have all arrived home with lots of ideas for home decor although ours won’t look a patch on The Arches as the beams and other original features are amazing. The perfect find for us. An excellent base to visit the Yorkshire National Park, Richmond, Harrogate,Barnard Castle , Layburn, Hawes and The Lakes. Thank you to the owners Angela and Graham for having us stay and being so approachable and contactable it was much appreciated.   The Old Chapel is a little gem. We were concerned about this property not being very warm given that it’s a converted chapel and we visited in the winter (over the new year), however, it is quite honestly one of the warmest properties that we’ve stayed in! The heating was responsive and efficient meaning that we were nice and cosy while the storms outside raged on! In terms of equipment, we always judge a cottage based on whether we can both make a gousto recipe at the same time without fighting over equipment. Again, the Old Chapel came up trumps. Plenty of kitchen equipment, enough worktop space to both be cooking at the same time and again, the hob and oven were responsive. The chapel was very clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was great too. All in all, lots of space for us to ring in the new year. In terms of location, there are walks around but they involve stiles which our dog won’t tolerate being lifted over, so we tended to go a bit further afield for walks. But being located a few minutes away from the A1 (although you’d never know it!) it meant that there was plenty of things within reasonable driving distances too. We’d definitely recommend this cottage to stay in.

  The property is beautiful and very clean!

  !! The bathroom is gorgeous and the bathtub is a key feature. I loved having the bathroom door open to the outside overlooking the wheat field while soaking in the tub. Bed was very comfortable. Only a couple of things that need a little work. The owners would benefit from staying, cooking and cleaning there for a few days as there are some essentials missing such as dishcloths, dish rack to dry dishes, dish washer tablets and we may have needed more than one roll of loo roll. It didn’t hinder our stay too much, but it lost a bit of that luxury feel someone has worked hard to make. The other thing is, the photos are a little deceptive and don’t show you are attached to a caravan park at the back. It’s still secluded and very quite but attached to a caravan park that appears to hold people’s mobile caravans. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend but would encourage the owners to look at little essentials.

  Larklands is a beautiful place to stay.

  High up on the hills of Yorkshire the views are wonderful and it is set in a small and peaceful village with great pub and fantastic farm shop close by. The barn itself was spacious and beautifully decorated throughout. It's high ceilings make it feel really special and the living room kitchen and dining area create a really sociable area - great to come home to after a long day out. The working farm next door gave us the opportunity to see hens scratching around and a new litter of kittens too! The owners were incredibly welcoming and were there for us if we needed them but in fact everything was so good we didn't need to message except to say what a great time we having!! This was our second time visiting Larklands and with the fresh new decor it was even nicer than the first time. I would definitely recommend staying there.
